The Mexican food was good. My husband and I had not eaten here in years and years. We had chicken tacos for lunch and a drink each. The bar drinks were good as well. The server was very nice and polite. The young man who seated us was not very polite. Took us to a booth without saying anything. I thought that was rude. Customers want to be acknowledged. The prices were very decent. We will go back. There was parking in the back with an entrance. The decorations were cute, adding to the atmosphere.

Lots of travel these past weeks. This place did not disappoint. The chips are spectacular in the salsa is on point.
Of the 2 El Azteco restaurants in the area, t is one has better food and service. The East Lansing location has a better view, but for the food, this one is clearly superior.

I have been a avid Mexican foodie for over 40 years. I going back that far this have never been my favorite. In fact I haven’t ate here in many years. And I was reminded why I haven’t and will not for many more years. Service was non existent and I was only one of 2 customers in the whole area. I waited at the front door for 5 minutes to be seated, when I finally go someone’s attention and they acted like I should have known it is seat your self! Everything took way long that it should have for an afternoon late lunch.
Food is blah at best, really don’t like the rice at all. I’m not even sure why I would give it 2 stars. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants all over town.

Coming in, there’s a sign that says please wait to be seated. There’s no hostess stand, and if you stand where they say, no one will see you which was very awkward. Once someone saw us, they said “have a seat wherever”.

I, personally, did not care for the chips and salsa at all. The chips are SUPER hard and the salsa is too spicy for most people. I could handle the heat, I just didn’t care for the flavor.

They redeemed themselves with their famous cheese dip. That was super good, I just wish I had better chips to dip in it.

I wanted to try a variety of different things, as such, I ordered A la carte. I got a breakfast taco (it had a much longer title on the menu), a Mexican style taco and the chicken and rice soup.

The soup was good, but just that. Not amazing, not bad. A solid 5-6 on a scale of 1-10. The bowl is ginornous, though; it’s a great value.

Both tacos were excellent, very large and very filling. They were not the typical “Street Taco” size that I’m used to. The meats were tender and flavorful. 9/10 tacos!

Food was cold and looked old, server was ready to go for the day and I can see why they have a “no refund” policy

Here with a friend for late lunch. I got the dry chimichanga with guacamole and my friend ordered the 3 soft tacos. Outdoor seating was pleasant and our waitress was in good spirits. I’ve only had frozen chimichangas and wet ones so this was a pleasant surprise. Friend said his food was immaculate.

When l got home and opened my food at a first glance I thought the tortilla was just a little burnt. But when I looked closer I saw wings like a fly. There was a bug on my chimichanga like it had landed on there and someone had killed it and smushed it into my food.
I called and went back to the restaurant they were not very apologetic and offered a food credit not even a refund. The woman’s response was “he probably didn’t see it when he packed up your food, and it’s nothing we could have really done we have a lot of flies back there”. I will not be eating there again. Horrible service and horrible people

I haven’t been there for 20 years. Anna was a treat. I thought she was the owner. Got a Topopo. Haven’t been there in 20 years. Again. Not the same. Get a margarita menu. Apparently that’s a thing now. I remember when you had just had garbage margaritas or top shelf. I ordered the orange juice ones by accident but Anna let me take the remainder home to mix with my seltzers . I’m still going back, but there’s going to be questions

I used to go to El Azteco in the 70’s and 80’s in East Lansing. That is under new ownership with a different feel than what we loved years ago. This West side El Azteco is the better one if the two. The Waitress was great. The kitchen staff was very accommodating

First off the food taste good. The bathroom is down some really dirty stairs where it was not clean without any towels to dry your hands. We had to ask for silverware after food was served. My sons food was served on a plate missing a chunk. The dinning room needs a good cleaning. Although the food was good we were concerned what the food prep area looked like.
