Fantastic Mexican food with authentic cowboy charm!
I had a wonderful experience at El Asadero Mexican Grill! The food is absolutely delicious—you can really taste the love and tradition in every dish. This is a family-owned restaurant founded by the Delgado Brothers, who wanted to bring the authentic flavors of their Mexican home to New Jersey . Everything is cooked over an open flame, which gives the food that perfect smoky, charred flavor .
The atmosphere is so cool—it’s cowboy themed with handcrafted wooden chairs, artisanal tiles, and pottery all imported from Mexico . There are even horse and bull statues for photos! It’s vibrant, lively, and makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a rustic Mexican hacienda.
Service was excellent too—friendly and attentive. If you go, I highly recommend the birria tacos with consommé for dipping (they’re a crowd favorite!) . Save room for dessert—the flan is supposedly some of the best in the state !
Great food, cool theme, wonderful service. What more could you want? I’ll definitely be back!

El Asadero Mexican Grill in Rochelle Park is truly a hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth of a genuine family-run restaurant where hospitality is not just a gesture but a way of life. The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and filled with the comforting energy of a place that clearly cares about its guests.
Every server we encountered was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. A special touch was the owner stopping by our table to greet us and ask about the food, which speaks volumes about the pride and love poured into this restaurant.
The food itself was outstanding, with generous portions that leave you satisfied and eager to return. Even more impressive are the prices, which are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive. It is rare to find a place that combines authentic flavor, heartfelt service, and affordability so seamlessly.
If you are looking for delicious Mexican cuisine in a warm, family-owned setting where you feel truly welcomed, El Asadero Mexican Grill is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

This spot on New Rochelle, NJ is great for large groups and kids. Service was a bit slow but the food was terrific. Great options for drinks: beer, tequila, and Micheladas. The places has an authentic Mexican feel to it thanks to it’s spectacular decor. Beautiful tribute to Dias Della Muertos. All the staff speak Spanish but can also speak English well. I had a mango sherbert for dessert which was unique for the tajin seasoning on it which I found to be strange but it didn’t spoil it. If you’re looking for quality Mexican food for your family, look no further.

My husband and I have become quite the regulars at this location. It’s on our way in from work and we tend to stop by often on nights cooking dinner is out of the question. The food is great as well as the vibes. A special shoutout to our server, Jose, who happens be our server often since we like to booth sections. He is always delivering the highest level of attention you can hope to get a restaurant. Thank you so much Jose !!! You deserve a raise ☺️ @management . Don’t think about it give this restaurant a try.

Finally made my way to El Asadero this past Saturday night. I heard so many great things about this restaurant and was excited to go. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The ambience was amazing! From the outside Christmas decor to the Mexican culture interior. Food was amazing as I ordered the Asadero steak with rice and beans. The drinks were also amazing as I ordered a margarita and a couple of great shots of tequila. I was also able to meet the owner and discussed his journey to creating this great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning very soon!

1. We ordered 2 pints of draft beer of different kinds – the smell from the old, unclean kegs were so prominent. We ended up not drinking them . Do NOT drink draft from here
2. Foods were too salty. To a point that it was inedible. My family ended up leaving more than half of the food due to pure saltiness of dishes – ALL of them
3. They include automatic 20% gratuity at the end – which kinda leaves a bad taste after the meal. It is not like I do not tip people. It is borderline insulting .
Having said that. Atmosphere is good. Service is good. The food could match the vibe. And that 20% gratuity – i mean come on. If I am being really frank – the service did not deserve 20%. This is the first restaurant in NJ who did to me without prior notification – and I have been living here more than 10 years now

Came for a holiday party and everything was great! It was buffet and had a mixture or meats and rice / pasta. 10/10 for the jarrito drink. Everyone was asking what it was because presentation was so good but drink was equally as good!

A very enjoyable purveyor for Mexican food. My first visit here, we had Broiled red Snapper, fish tacos and a shrimp burito. All were very tasty. Service is very good with no complaints. Ambiance is a fun atmosphere and plenty of photo-ops with props. Check it out!
