Authentic Mexican gem of Niles! We have lived in Southern California and don’t eat at most “Mexican” restaurants in Michigan because they are no where near as tasty as California authentic. But this is as close to anything authentic as we’ve had since being back! They fry their own chips, make amazing guacamole and have a great menu of most Mexican staples (surprisingly no tamales though). Great service, clean but small. Kids menu as well.

Fantastic food, but their menu is smaller due to the pandemic. I think it is the same as their food truck. Still very good, but I miss much of their full menu. I feel like a taco was never $3. But again – worth it. They are wonderful and I always feel satisfied after I leave. Great place to eat.

Phoned in and order for quick lunch pick up. Friendly quick and helpful staff, when I arrived my order was being packaged and the environment was nice and clean.
I had the hurache? Was great size and tastes amazing! And elote in a cup, great flavor, well done, only thing was it was a little watery, but otherwise fantastic!
Sad that they are closing the store front to do food truck only, but I’ll be following them on Facebook in hope to catch them around!

This is a fantastic little Mexican joint in downtown Niles. The staff are amazingly friendly, the food always comes on quick and tastes amazing. You might have to wait a little bit because it really is just a little hole in the wall, but they used to have a store and closed it because they wanted to do a food truck service. So much of Niles beg them to reopen this location and they’re only open Thursday through Saturday or Sunday, so you may have to wait a little bit to get a table at this place, if you love authentic Mexican food, this place will not let you down.

Staff is very friendly and efficient, prices are fair.
Ambiance is pleasant (well-lit without being too bright, tastefully decorated without being cluttered)
Food is pretty good, the beans earned the 4 year old’s stamp of approval.
I’d definitely eat here again if I was in town, but wouldn’t make a special trip

Ana helped me plan out catering for the rehearsal dinner for our wedding. She spent months going over the food options, delivery methods, and charges. The food was amazing, and every one of our guests left impressed with the local taco restaurant. El Amigo lives up to its name of being a friend!

I went specifically for nachos and I had some trouble ordering as the clerk seemed to have his attention elsewhere. What I received was a large amount of taco meat, some toppings and not much cheese. There weren’t many chips and the cheese had hardened. I would have given 2 stars but I’ve had better experiences in the past.
