As frequent passers-by of this Mexican cuisine food truck in Manning, Oregon, we were extremely pleased with our first visit to El Amigo. Our family sampled the Carne Asada Tacos, Carne Asada Nachos, Quesabirrias with consommé, a Chicken Taco, a Carnitas Taco, a Lengua Taco, and a Horchata. Everything was freshly prepared, and the taste and quality exceeded our expectations.
The portion sizes were just right—the large nachos, in particular, were massive and satisfying. The house-made green salsa was bright and refreshing, while the red salsa delivered a flavorful heat.
We were also impressed by the cleanliness and openness of the kitchen and prep area, which is visible to customers and clearly well-maintained.
El Amigo is a fantastic addition to the Banks and Manning area, bringing fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine to a region with limited options. Whether you’re a local or a traveler heading to or from the Oregon Coast, this food truck makes for an excellent stop—either for a quick bite or a relaxed meal.
We’ll definitely be returning to El Amigo often and are grateful to have them in the area.

Mouthwatering! The pictures don’t do it justice. We had the al pastor tacos which featured perfectly grilled pineapple and Berrian tacos that literally left my mouth watering for more. Packed with flavor and fairly priced. Give it a go– you won’t regret it!

Excellent! We had asada and al pastor tacos, quesadilla and tamales. All were great. Al pastor was especially good. Fresh guacamole. Fair prices. Would definitely recommend.

Got tonight’s dinner for my family here. Enchiladas (with al pastor), Asada fries, tamal plate (2 chicken tamales), an extra pork tamal, a side of pico de gallo and a side of guac. I really liked the enchilada sauce, and the al pastor was also very well seasoned. Both tamal were lightly seasoned (it at all), you could easily taste the masa and it was good. The asada fries had a nice amount of meat and cheese, and the meat wasn’t dry or rubbery (hey, steak is hard enough, let alone for takeout… So it’s something I usually shy away from due to unlucky past experiences), on top there was a pool of salsa and another of sour cream. While the guac was just ok, the salsas were all really good. I think I got a sample of every salsa they offered. Mild red was decently chunky, hot red might have been chipotle, but it almost had a slight franks red hot undertone. It was hot, but it was very tasty. The mild green was nice and sour, while the hot green was thicker and creamier, and was still gentle but much stronger.

Good rice and beans, tacos were decent. But the salsa was not good. Something was off maybe was bad, red/green and pico, all three were off. I probably won’t try again.
