Really good tilapia tacos on flour tortillas. It came with cheese and lettuce. I asked for no tomato. I ordered for pickup but the vibe in there was nice if you wanted to sit down and eat. The total price for 4 tacos was $19 and some change.

First time visiting, definitely won’t be the last. I’ve seen this place a lot of times and had some free time to check them out. I’ve been to almost every taco spot in the area and right now El Amigo is at the top of my list. Great quality of meat(I went with the skirt steak), good portions, decent, and a really good price point. If I could only make one suggestion. It may be easier said than done be if there was a way to invest in a grill and do your proteins al carbon style I GUARANTEE it would take your flavors to a whole new level and really set you apart from every other place in the area. Trust me on this haha. See you soon hopefully with that new grill installed . Overall it’s a decent taco. I’d give it a 7.5.

We used to enjoy coming here, for years and years. However, the past few times the service has been terrible. The food is still good. The last time we went in which you was about 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the prices had gone up substantially. I understand prices go up as I’m in the restaurant industry but these prices went up like more than a dollar or two per item. I mentioned it to the server and the server explained to me that they’re going to be offering doordash and they had to up the prices because doordash charges them. This is true, doordash does charge the merchant for offering delivery service. However, I guess the owners of El Amigo don’t understand that you charge higher prices on the menu on the doordash app to offset the charges for doordash, you don’t up the charges and pass those on to your customers who are dining in and carrying out. We won’t be back. Our bill was 15% higher for the exact same order.

I went to this restaurant for the first time in years, and wow… the prices have really gone up. I get that everything costs more these days, but it’s still a little shocking when tacos used to be $2.50 and tortas were $5.95 just five years ago.
My first visit back was on a weekday night and the place wasn’t busy at all, but the service was still rough. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to ask about drinks, then another 10 minutes before we actually got water and chips. Just a heads up, only the first basket of chips is complimentary.
I originally thought about ordering nachos, but the pricing didn’t make sense. Chips and beans were $6, meat was another $4, guacamole $4, sour cream $2, and other toppings $2 each. At that point I just skipped it. Burritos were around $11 and tortas were about $14 a la carte.
The torta itself was pretty decent and I liked that they toasted the bread. Unfortunately, our waiter never came back to check on us. When he finally did, we asked for water refills and more chips and salsa, but they never came.
A week later I decided to give the place another shot because I really want to like a good Mexican spot. This time we went on a Saturday and it was surprisingly busy.
Right away the table was soaking wet and we had to wipe it down ourselves with napkins. When we opened the menus there were crushed chips inside, which was kind of gross.
I ordered the torta again, but this time the bread was burned. We also ordered a chimichanga and enchiladas. They were alright, and the steak was actually pretty good. But again, the service was lacking. Our waitress never checked on us and we had to wave her down just to get a box.
For an enchilada dinner, a chimichanga, and a torta (a la carte), the bill came out to $43.
The food is okay, but the prices are high and the service has been consistently poor on both visits. Will I go back again? Probably not.

Favorite place to get Mexican food in Lake County. Had chicken tacos with just cheese and onion. Another picture is their newer menu item, Tinga. Both plates had no beans and extra rice. If you want any bottles of drinks, go to the refrigerator, behind the cash register counter.
