After hiking Pilot Mountain, we stopped in town for lunch and chose El Aguacate…and wow, what an incredible choice! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and relaxing.
Everything we ordered was flavorful and fresh, but the highlight of the meal was definitely dessert. Do not leave without trying the Mocha tres leches cake! It’s rich, moist, and unforgettable.
Highly recommend this place for anyone passing through or looking for a top-notch dining experience. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Atmosphere: Bright, clean, and colorful atmosphere inside. Kid friendly but also a fun couples spot. We ate here on a Friday around 3pm, and it was very quiet and peaceful. I imagine it may be louder during peak times.
Selection: Menu may not be as broad as some places, but I love that the selections have more of an authentic feel. Chips and salsa were immediately brought to the table, and service was quick.
Food: I had lunch tamales w rice & beans. My husband ordered the chicken soup with a small salad. Food was yummy and just what I was craving.
Drinks & Dessert: Plenty of drink choices, including tea, soda, beers, and mixed drinks. Dessert choices seemed super delicious (I would love to visit again just for dessert). Churro Cupcake anyone?
Would definitely visit again.

The best Mexican Restaurant in Surry County. Great food, great service, ran by a great team of managers, cooks, and servers. I recommend it to every person I know and plenty of people I don’t know.

Stopped in on our way through town based on the reviews. The establishment is very clean. The staff is very friendly. The food was ok… we’ve had better but it was worth trying at least..

No need to give it less than 5 stars. It was our first time there. The food was good but not outstanding but that might get better after I go back a few times and figure out what I like best. It was a nice place downtown. It wasn’t crowded. I’ve heard others comment that it was a little expensive. Maybe so but not much. We will probably go back soon.

So fresh and tasty! Do not come here if you are looking for taco bell, Americanized “Mexican”. This is an authentic and well cooked menu. Fresh squeezed lime juice in the margarita. Unique and flavorful dishes. We had a chirozo street taco, guac, and a chimichanga. Oh my gosh, the rice and beans were so scrumptious! I normally ignore these side dishes but they do them well here. Attentive, on point service. Cool decor. Such a treat!

Try the street tacos!! They are inexpensive and authentic. Great guacamole! The staff are very helpful and the atmosphere is lively (another word for packed – You’ll probably see someone you know!). They do have limited shaded outdoor seating, which is nice since it’s fun to people watch (and car watch!) on the main drag. Recommend!

Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Can’t go wrong with anything here and please don’t skip the desserts! They are homemade by the owners wife and incredible.

The food we had was excellent except the beans needed seasoning. The service was very good. We were at the restaurant when it was very slow. It’s is a hidden little spot but it is worth it. I would definitely recommend.
