Great vibes and excellent service. The drink menu offers a wide variety of options, and it’s a nice spot to visit with family, friends, or coworkers after work. The portions are generous, and there’s a big selection of food to choose from. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. While the food can be hit or miss for me…. sometimes it’s really good, other times just okay. I still enjoy coming back to try different dishes.

We went for lunch and it was our first time in. Honestly, it will probably be our last. We were “underwhelmed “. Our server barely smiled or acted like she wanted to be there. She never came back and checked our drinks. Our food did come out pretty fast and it was hot, but no great, man, this is good, feeling. It was just OK. We did like the chips but the salsa was very mild for us. We asked for something hotter but they never brought it. The restaurant itself was nice. But we probably won’t go back.

Very clean and very well staffed. Service was quick and fresh. The guacamole was among the best I’ve had and good sweet tea. The issue was the cheese dip was extremely watery. I got the surf and turf dip which had cheese dip on it. You couldn’t tell as it was so watery and had all went to the bottom with the grease from the meats. The meats were good, but the cheese dip needs to be reworked. The enchiladas tapiats also needed a sauce for flavor.

We have been return customers of this restaurant. We typically have a good experience and good food but the last time we went it was subpar. We went tonight for dinner around 6 o’clock. The restaurant was busy but not abnormal for that time on a Saturday night. We were seated and ordered drinks and a queso. The queso came out before the drinks but chips were never served until we requested them from the server after our drinks were served. The queso was not warm when the server brought it but the kids still ate it. Then we ordered the main course. My wife ordered the rice bowl and it was good as normal. We ordered the kids chicken cheese and rice and I ordered a molcajete. The kids food was lukewarm and my molcajete which is supposed to be a piping hot dish was border line warm. When I brought it to the servers attention he brought the manager out to speak with me. The manager flat out told me they don’t serve it hot because people burn themselves on the dish…. I’m sorry but that was the final straw for me. I’m not going to pay for cold food at a restaurant with my hard earned money. We will not be patrons at this establishment ever again.

We came in 14 deep tonight (3/5/26Thurs.) and this restaurant was very accommodating to our party. Everyone was very nice and the food was delicious. I’ve never been here before, but will definitely go back. Our server was top-notch. She didn’t let her drink go empty. She did not let chips go empty. She was pretty amazing. I really wish I got her name. She knew what she was doing. Thank you for a great night to celebrate my sister’s birthday and also for being just really well organized when you guys were so busy. I was very impressed. Thank you so much.

“El Agave Mexican Restaurant”
This was definitely one of the more “Authentic” mexican restaurants in our memphis area. The freshly made guacamole is very delightful, however at $9.99 for the large portion I felt i was not given enough.
I was pleased with how quickly our party was attended, our server was very kind, and fast to make sure our time there was good.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My rice and beans were brought out 15 minutes before my burrito so they got cold. And my “burrito” was 8 medium shrimp wrapped in a 6 inch tortilla. When I unwrapped it to look, the smell turned my stomach. Very distinctively bad fish. My plate was also hotter than the food, indicating that it was for sure microwaved. I asked for a fork for my husband and the waitress walked off as I was asking. When the manager came over I explained the issues and he said “oh thats what a burrito is” baby WHAT. Didn’t even address that it smelled turned. They also refused to take the uneaten, cold cheese dip off the bill.

Pretty good. Basic Mexican food. Decent size portions I have good prices. Very generous drinks. Try the large mango Margarita. Service was excellent. It’s a loud environment though. They should add some soundproofing to the walls.
