Don’t overlook this restaurant. My husband ate here a few weeks ago and suggested that we go experience it together today. We have been to a lot of different Mexican restaurants in and around Chattanooga and this was one of the best. I had build-your-own combo with a cheese enchilada and a chicken soft taco. The enchilada was very good and it came with beans and rice and the chicken taco was large, the chicken was flavorful, plus it was loaded with lettuce and cheese. Husband ate Pollo Tropicale which was baked chicken with bacon bits and pineapple covered in a melted cheese with sides of beans and rice. He loved it. The only critique he had was to say that it would be a little more interesting if it were grilled chicken. We also had their free chips and salsa and added a bowl of queso which we mixed with the salsa (yum!). Everything came quickly to the table and was a very good temperature. We will definitely return. The wait staff was very quick, accurate and not bothersome. The inside of the restaurant was a little bit old looking which I think could be improved easily but it didn’t deter from the meal. They also have a small bar.

Not authentic Mexican. This is a Tex-Mex restaurant. Service was fast and food was good. They start up by bringing chips and delicious red salsa (yummy). We ordered a Cactus Fajitas for 2 and it was more than enough. The steak was overbooked but the other meats were fine. I ordered a margarita but it was just ok. It tasted like a fruit iced tea. The restaurant has enough seating available for large groups as well.

El Agave had the most flavorful Mexican food I have had in a while. From the fresh chips and salsa to my meal. I was highly impressed and satisfied. The service was speedy and polite. Definitely add this to your list of places to eat in Chattanooga.

This was my first experience at this restaurant. The food was awesome. I had the wings and my friend had steak taco. The margaritas were spot on. I must also give kudos to the wait staff as they were right there with a smile. I highly recommend trying this place out as I will definitely be back!!!

This is my go-to place now! I don’t normally write reviews but since this place is new, everyone should check it out! Service was excellent, the staff were so friendly. The food was really good and the 2 for 1 margaritas were pretty strong! Food was better quality than I expected – I had the grilled chicken/onion & jalapeño dish over rice (pictured). I would recommend this place to anyone!

We went for my husband’s Birthday and were very impressed! Being fans of Monterrey we were hoping they would be just as good. El Agave is even better!!! Great food, service, and they kept the pretty chairs and tables. We will be regulars here

I normally don’t ever give a 5 star review but this place is worthy. From the wait staff to the food. everything was great. i cant get over how welcoming and nice everyone was almost constantly asking if i needed anything. So when i want Mexican food i will be going here from now on.

Hell yeah. The hype is real! Pork enchiladas are righteous. But the real test of any Tex Mex joint are the beans. A seemingly simple endeavor, most joints fail miserably. El Agave is firing on all cylinders here. And the house salsa is good as other reviews have attested.
