Fantastic place. Came here during a weekday and while it was busy, we got seating immediately. Brought us a big bowl of fresh chips and salsa. I couldn’t stop eating the salsa and chips! They were worth coming for on their own. Got guac as an appetizer to go with the salsa and it was great too, not as good as the salsa but damn, that salsa tho…The dinners were 6.75 each and were FILLING. I got a taco, burrito, and enchilada, and they were together very filling and so amazingly well made. They were so simple in there design of ground beef inside, shell, then covered in cheese and sauces, but the seasoning was fantastic and I finished it all in 5 minutes flat. The interior was also super cute! Everything seemed well kept and clean and the owner would deliver food sometimes, would clean tables sometimes, and other times stand proudly and watch as his customers were engrossed in their delicious food. I’m from out of town though and wish this place was closer because I would come here every week if I could!

Very friendly great staff. Food is affordable and absolutely amazing. Huge portions. If you leave hungry you probably have a tapeworm

We arrived around noon on a Friday in March, and it wasn’t too busy. The interior is rather tired with booths and tables. We were greeted immediately and taken to a table. A wait person quickly brought chips and salsa. The waiter then arrived to take our drink order. The restaurant has a decent selection of beer but a meager selection of wine. They also have margaritas and other spirited beverages. The menu is quite extensive with lunch and dinner options. We ordered the Speedy Gonzales and Burrito Verde. We were eating lunch within 5 minutes. The food portions are very generous. Unfortunately, the food was bland except for the salsa which was quite spicy. The Speedy Gonzales came with a chicken enchilada, beef taco and refried beans. The meat on both had no spices at all. The beef tasted like plain cooked hamburger, and the chicken tasted like poached chicken. The same was the case with the chicken burrito. The sauces added a tad of flavor but they were also bland. Kind of odd to use the word bland with Mexican food. We really wanted to like this local restaurant but, sadly, it was a disappointing experience.

Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. As we entered, the crowd of about 8 staff standing around openly stared at the handicapped member of our party all the way to the table. The queso was served cool and was quite watery. The combo meals 2 of us ordered were inedible; the ground beef was like the lowest quality meat I’ve ever had the displeasure of putting into my mouth. My son managed to eat the stretchy tortillas from his meal, the remaining beef is what he couldn’t manage, even as a teen who’s always hungry. The beef was grisly and with an unpleasant flavor and texture. The chalupa, which was not described on the menu, was a tostada- crunchy corn tortilla with flavorless and watery refried beans on it covered in buckets of shredded lettuce. The cheese tasted like grated white American? It was unlike any Mexican cheese I’ve tried. The spinach quesadilla didn’t seem to have cheese in it (nor did the burrito or enchilada) but rather gobs of watery overcooked spinach alone. Upon returning to find our food uneaten, I did try to explain to the waitress that the meat seemed quite inedible, she threw her hands up and said “Maybe order something different next time”. I said I certainly agree but maybe she’d want to let the chef or manager know “Chef?!” she laughed out loud. They didn’t offer to take anything off the bill naturally. The restaurant itself was cold, as the booth behind us was seated the lady yelped “Ew god my seat is wet! I just sat in a puddle!” You can get better quality and ambience at Taco Bell for a quarter of the price so I’d steer clear of this place. I literally would have found more enjoyment in setting my $60 on fire to have avoided the abysmal experience entirely.

I’m not sure why this place is so highly rated. The good: The service was very fast, we were seated quickly despite being busy, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The bad: the food! We ordered the grande special and the taquitos. Overall, everything we had was flavorless and oily. The ground beef was unpleasant, both texture and flavor-wise, and the beef and chicken in the taquitos tasted unseasoned (both were also exceptionally dry). The chile relleno was oily and the cheese inside somehow was totally bland (I don’t think it was the correct cheese for chile rellenos). Also, the burrito had some sort of tomato-based sauce on top which was very offputting. Having grown up in the Southwest, and eating these foods are whole life, we felt we had to say something in light of all the glowing reviews. This place has definite promise, but the cooking needs an overhaul.

Love this restaurant, I hope they are able to reopen quickly after this weekends auto accident, otherwise I don’t know where I will go 5-6 times a month.

Authentic Mexican Food! We were so happy to find this delicious restaurant on our overnight stay in Ruckersville. We saw from the road side and it was one of the only restaurants still open on a Saturday night. We both ordered the El Agave Special and guac and chips with margaritas. The portions were massive (our photo does not show how large they actually were) and we took half of our food home. Highly recommend stopping in for a delicious Mexican lunch or dinner!

Stopped in for dinner and was seated quickly. Server (name not given) took drink order and another delivered chips and salsa. Both were good and home made. I ordered the El Agave special which turned out to be delicious and plentiful. Overall a very good experience.
