If you are looking for a hidden gem… this is it. I imagine this is what the old supper clubs were like. Great service. Hefty pours and amazing meals. A special place.

Fantastic staff all around! Our server was so warm, courteous, and just a great guy! Patient with our questions. Food was delicious, with plentiful servings. Drinks were very good. We had late reservations and I know our large party stayed past close, but they made us feel so welcome- appreciated their generosity knowing it had already been a long night for all of them.

Where do I start… We chose EJ’s place due to its proximity to my mother-in-law. I went there for my birthday dinner and was so looking forward to the crab legs. After we placed our order, the waiter came back out to tell me they did not have any crab legs. he pushed the steak and lobster special. We waited forever for our food and we’re literally the last customers left in the place when he came out to tell us the lobster tail was overcooked and they had to redo it. After waiting another half an hour the food finally came out and the lobster tail was still way over cooked. The place was very small and noisy, until all the other customers left. And the atmosphere was like an old steakhouse very dark, and has not been updated in years. This was my first time there, and more than likely will be the last time. In all honesty my wife posted a review somewhere and they did call And offer something for the next time we visited. And the waiter also called to apologize. Maybe in the future I will try them again, but not for my birthday and I will call to a sure they have crab legs.

We enjoy steakhouses and E. J’s place is at the very top of the list. It feels like you’re going into a Wisconsin supper club. The steaks, the crabs and the drinks are all full portions and delivered by charming waiters. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at EJ’s Place after a matinee performance at the Northlight Theatre. We were on the earlier side for dinner, and staff was so welcoming on our arrival. We had the pleasure of having Jay as our waiter. Jay was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We bonded over our shared interest in the arts. I had the whitefish entree and my husband had the filet – portions are extremely large and come with salad and potato, so I ended up taking alot of leftovers home. Fine with me! Jay gave us a complimentary dessert, and we enjoyed our evening thoroughly!

Sat out in the tent and enjoyed an amazing meal served by Andrew our waiter. Andrew was professional and friendly! The tent seats approximately 50 people with adequate spacing. We had Dover Soul and NY Strip Steak. Both the best we’ve had! The food came out piping hot and cooked the way we ordered it (the steak).

Here’s What you need to know: loved our first ever visit to EJ’s on a perfect August summer evening for some al fresco dining (terrific, elegant setup outside for COVID). AMAZING food and service. HUGE portions but everything made to order (even the salad dressing). Perfect!

It seems more like a private club. We arrived earlier than our friends, so the maitre d told us we would be seated when the rest of our party arrived. So I sat next to his podium and watched as people came in & were seated immediately whether their whole party was there or not. It seems that the maitre d knew them. When the rest of our party arrived (on time), our table had been given to another party. They set up a big round table in a very inappropriate place, which we refused. Finally, we were seated in a large booth. The waiter was ok. The prices were ridiculous. Service was slow. For dessert, we ordered a slice of carrot cake that was $$, only for it to be cold in the middle. Frozen? Very disappointed and will not be back.

It was my first time trying EJ’s and I heard such great things about the restaurant. Manhattan Rye on the rocks was great, the calamari a bit too salty for my taste, the chicken oreganata was excellent along with the french fries.
