Edit to move my previous 2 star review down to 1 after they somehow messed everything up, plus I had to ask twice for the coffee I ordered.
To make things worse, they were almost out of bagels! Isn’t that the one thing they’re supposed to have? I couldn’t believe how poorly stocked they were. I seriously had to ask myself what happened here? Is there new management or just no one paying attention? This place used to be decent, but now it’s just a mess. I won’t be coming back.
I came back today to give them the benefit of the doubt unfortunately, it was the same disappointing experience. While I waited a long time for just one bagel sandwich, I spoke to other customers who shared similar bad experiences at this location. It seems like the supervisor, owner, or whoever is in charge doesn’t do anything to improve the service.
I also received what appeared to be an automated reply, and despite reaching out to Bagels’ customer service, no one responded. Very disappointed.
Purchased Texas brisket egg sandwich and Bagelrito with hash browns orange juice and nitro caramel cold coffee. Total came to $29.76, a bit pricey for breakfast but was willing to splurge since it was my birthday.
The Texas brisket egg sandwich was a work of art and had a well balanced flavor. The bagel itself was crispy on the outside yielding and not chewy on the inside, just right.
The Bagelrito is an innovative attempt but falls short of perfection. The outer “bagel” shell is a cool idea, however it’s a bit too thick and chewy. Dropping the flour tortilla would make it crispy without being chewy. Ingredients on the inside were a very tasty blend with a nice kick.
Didn’t care for the hash browns. I was expecting a light salting on the outside, crispiness and potato flavor. Was not crispy, lacked salt and the cheese used wasn’t complimentary and drowned out the natural potato flavor.
Orange juice tasted amazing, perhaps freshly squeezed. Nitro caramel cold coffee was good but too sweet. I guess I’m not the target audience for that drink.
Overall, I respect the effort in craft and the desire to make something different than traditional breakfast. Some of their offerings need a bit of fine tuning. Leave the orange juice and the Texas brisket bagel alone however!!
