Our server was great, she got me my floppy bacon that most places just will not do for some reason! She was very nice and attentive the whole time. The food was delicious!

Only downside is your whole party has to be there to be seated.

Let’s see where do i start? I placed an order through doordash soon as the restaurant opened. That way i could ensure fresh quality food ! I ordered shrimp and grits with a side of home fries. while chewing the shrimp and grits i felt something hard and when i used my teeth so sort it out and take it out it appeared to be a piece of metal or wire . I immediately contacted doordash who also refused to give my money back . I called the restaurant as well and was told it was nothing they could do besides make another order and that the issue was with doordash getting my money back and not them! My thing is if i swallowed the metal how would i be able to prove it then ? Here’s my pictures and my experience! when eating out please take precautions! Don’t be out of a meal and out of money!

Very quick service on a Sunday morning. Great value for the money. Loads of stuff on the grand classic. No salt on the grits though. Usually a death penalty but I’m not in the deep south.

Came back for more. Berry salad and oatmeal.

We have come here almost weekly for over a month now. I love this place, I love the people who work here, I love the food, and I love the prices. The food is amazing. I have nothing bad I could even say. The last time we went we had Kristin as our server, she’s amazing. Make sure you say hi to her when you guys go in.
The crab cake Benny is 10/10. I like to consider myself a crab cake Benny connoisseur, and this one is currently my #1. It’s on top of garlic bread! YUM!

Great job with the coffee latte! Comparable to a coffee shop. Very clean, loads of windows and bright decorations. Happy and friendly folks working here. Loads of choices on the menu. The grilled muffins very good. The chicken omelette ok, all cooked and prepared well, but missing something. Was much better after a few drizzles of the Texas Pete hot sauce provided. Home fries pretty good, but prefer cooked a bit longer. All in all a good brekkie, recommend and will return to try other menu items.

This little place was really yummy! There were tons of options on the menu. I had originally hoped for pancakes, but ended up having french toast. The french toast was dipped in custard and cooked golden brown on the griddle. It was served with home fries and bacon. The bacon was delicious. I also had orange juice. Everything was wonderful. My breakfast companion dined on the chicken strips and waffles. They couldn’t get over how delicious the housemade spicy honey dip was. He added eggs and i added a side of grits. The restaurant was bright and cheery. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The location was close to our home city of Portsmouth. Lots of great seating and parking.

Dropped past, because it was in the vicinity of my mammogram. I ordered the Classic and a side of the corned beef hash. Everything was pretty good, but I didn’t like the corned beef hash. Too many gristles and slimy fat for me, but everyone has their flavor, taste, and texture preference. I do wish there were some onions and other seasonings added to the hash browns, but that’s just my preference. Overall, pretty good meal.

My husband and I dined in for a quick breakfast before heading back home. This would be our 2nd and last time visiting! Fair warning if the menu ever says that the meals are NOT refundable OR exchanged.. RUN! Why did we come back? The flight mimosas were good last time as was 1/2 of the meals. My husband ordered chicken and waffles the first time around and made note NOT to order it again. The chicken looks like they were frozen strips from your nearest grocery store thrown on top a waffle. We decided to give it another try….

2nd experience… we ordered flights again because they were pretty decent the first time, unfortunately this time it was mostly juice, no bubbly. My husband didn’t finish his. . We ordered Steak and potatoes. NEVER order steak and potatoes. The steak resembled tuna steak … MAYBE! The texture, the flavor, the color !!! None of it resembled sirloin steak. The steak should have been pink in the middle for a medium steak, it was brown, like old blood. Like it had been sitting out. I had to ask if the eggs were cracked or folded, since the name of the restaurant is EGGS UP GRILL i would hope they’d be real not carton eggs. The waitress said cracked but you can look at that picture and make the judgement for yourself. We reached out to see if we could exchange it for something else, at that time we were informed that there are NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.. so you want to force me to eat mystery meat? And pay for it!
You’d think the manager would come over and check to see what we’re dissatisfied about. No, not until she was requested by my husband. At this time we’ve received our check. Once she comes over and actually looks at the food and receives feedback, at that moment she REACTIVELY offered to make adjustments to the bill. No thanks, we will pay for our meal and tip our waitress. We’ll never return and the people who I encouraged to visit your establishment, i will happily recant those invitations as well.

Dear Manager,
Customer service is a staple of your business and you have some major opportunities. It’s never about the money but the experience you’re willing to provide the people who contribute to paying your bills. Eventually the 1 stars will add up & at that point it will be too late to make adjustments. Typically the owner walks through to check on their guests with genuine intent. . This is a proactive approach that sets you apart from the rest and gives you an opportunity to elevate the experience of your clientele. Do better !

Sincerely,

Your Fellow Business Owners

We stopped in Eggs Up Grill with friends after church, they suggested it as they’ve been several times before. The sign out front listed a few specials and the mango mimosa caught my eye, it was so good and I could taste the freshness of the mango puree, the price was reasonable too at $5.99. Hubs had the corned beef hash with eggs & grits which he enjoyed! I’m a fan of sweet & savory together so l ordered the chicken & waffles, the spicy syrup put them over the top in
deliciousness! So tasty, I would certainly order them again! This was our first visit to Eggs Up Grill but it won’t be our last!

When we arrived it was a tight parking lot, so I got out and went inside while he was able to park. Was told I had to wait for my party to arrive before I was sat. The server was great got our drink order and came back to take the food order. Food delivery was spot on. Very quick. Taste the Benedict was glorious smooth flavors melted together. The potatoes were however smothered in pepper, too much for my taste. Covered them in ketchup and hot sauce. My partner loved the omelet however the gravy was watery, not thick like he likes it. Trying to leave was interesting, car parked and blocking other people from moving.
