I enjoyed the chicken sausage and goat cheese scrambler and a side of chorizo hash. Flavorful and tasty. They haven’t perfected the potatoes for both, a bit on the wet side side for my taste. I like the farmhouse atmosphere. Service was friendly but if you’re in a rush you should take your food to go

Very good place to get good, tasty, made-to-order food! The breakfast menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of choices. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Recommend going on a weekday to avoid long wait. Service was quick and attentive. Big portions, fresh ingredients and delicious. Good coffee. They did pretty good on the Bacon bibimbap.

This place is good for breakfast or lunch, even though is not as consistent and generous as it used to be with their portions.

I got the classic breakfast and I loved it. It was perfectly filling and delicious. Definitely recommend stopping in here. This place only a few minutes walk from the train station, so it’s really easy to come by. 🙂

Good service, however the quality and value is lacking. Ordered the healthy omelette and OJ this past Sunday. The OJ tasted like Tang, definitely watered down (whatever it was). Omelette was mediocre, arrived with a non-buttered English muffin. Also, no butter on the table. Disappointed because this was my favorite breakfast spot. For the price, it’s time to find a different restaurant.

Ordered online, received text at 11:24am stating that my order was ready. Drove 10 min to pick it up. Upon arriving I was informed that they were “still getting it together”, ok fine. I waited over 10 min, and watched several other people including door dashers grab orders that were brought up to the front. I then asked the girl at the counter how much longer, since I received a text at 11:24 stating that it was ready. She went to the kitchen, and then came up and still said it was almost ready. I ordered a veggie scrambler, nothing outrageous. I waited an addition 10 min before asking to speak to the manager. When the manager came out she nonchalantly stated that a door dasher grabbed my order. So at this point it’s almost noon, and I’ve been waiting around this whole time without any explanation as to what originally happened, or communication right off the bat. I took the completed order, and when I got home, it looked really weird. The eggs were Crayola orange, and had a really weird taste, the bread was stale, so I ended up throwing most of it out anyway. A couple hours later I got extremely sick. I’ve dined at Egg Harbor (just not this location, this was a first for me) dozens of times and never experienced this issue. Terrible food at this location, and even worse service.

Egg Harbor Cafe is a hidden gem tucked in Downers Grove. The location is in a great, busy part of Downers with several other small shops and stores near by. The cafe itself is welcoming, with indoor and outdoor dining and the staff is very very friendly. Food here is great, you can tell that all ingredients are fresh and high quality. Even the yolks in the eggs are a bright golden orange, which is a great sign of fresh eggs being used! Is highly recommend Egg Harbor to anyone looking for a great place to stop for breakfast or Brunch!

Food was cold and when brought to our waitress attention, she took it back and just put it in the microwave making my avocados slices hot. Pretty much tasted like cafeteria food and definitely not worth the money. Potatoes were bland and seems like just frozen food. Nothing fresh about it. No thanks.
