Enjoy Fine South-East Asian-Island Fusion Dining at Edwin’s Carmel… …Immediate favorites include the Balinese fried chicken, cool-marinated for hours with island herbs like lemongrass, bay leaves, achiote, garlic, ginger, calamansi and galangal in a sweet soy sauce then later dipped in buttermilk, deep fried and served with prawn crackers and a choice between egg fried rice or nasi goreng… A little east to west, Salazar says… (https://www.ediblemontereybay.com/blog/affina-reborn-as-edwins-a-se-asian-tribute-to-a-foodie-father/)

From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this place is something truly special. The ambience and the food are easily some of the best features of the restaurant, creating an atmosphere that feels both exciting and welcoming at the same time. There’s an undeniable energy in the air that makes you want to stay, laugh, and enjoy every moment. Just make sure Dexter the face of town is present.

What really sets this restaurant apart, though, is the heart behind it. Dexter is genuinely one of the best hosts in town. His irresistible charm, fun party vibe, and incredible hospitality make every guest feel like family. He doesn’t just run the place; he lives it. He personally comes by to check on customers, making sure everything is perfect, which adds such a meaningful, personal touch that you don’t find everywhere.

The food is authentic and bold, bursting with the strong flavors of Asian culture. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and full of soul. Pair that with the energetic and lively live entertainment, and you get an experience that goes far beyond just dining. From time to time, you might even spot some famous names enjoying the vibe, which just adds to the excitement.

The restaurant was personally picked as my wedding venue for small, intimate, and fun event. Dexter was resourceful and helped us figured out everything from planning to ceremony and reception. Despite being small in size, the restaurant shines with a big, unforgettable vibe—live music, great food, and nonstop energy all wrapped into one unique spot. Truly a memorable wedding for a lifetime!

The restaurant is truly one of a kind and stands out from the rest in Carmel downtown. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, and one you’ll want to come back to again and again. Hugeee love & hugs to Dex bro!

The food was quite good, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice but i thought it was overpriced. I know it’s Carmel but i cant justify the price for having the same sides for 3 dishes that we ordered (all carrots and rice). There was little variety and even the sauces were common for the fish and pork. And for desert – we got ube ice cream with costco cookies. The food is good but dont think it’s worth the price.

The people were nice though and there was a live band going. Worth to try just be ready to pay more

We loved the Lechon Kawali with fried rice and the Singapore Chilli Prawns… I am glad even if it is a fusion restaurant we can find South East Asian food in Carmel by the Sea ❤️

Un. Freaking. Believably. Good. If youre not familiar with Fusion cuisine, this is a great place to taste it done right! The Seafood Curry is out of this world and Ed’s Clam Chowder is a whole new twist. Jakob and crue make sure you’re well attended to without hovering. STRONG recommendation.

My wife and I were visiting the area, and being a Filipino-American couple were excited to find a restaurant serving Filipino food!

We ordered the lumpia and Kare Kare. We were very happy with the lumpia, they were smaller in size than what we are used to but the sauce was delicious and flavors were amazing! The Kare Kare on the other hand was milder in flavor compared to other Kare Kare that I have had in the past. However, the eggplant was cooked beautifully and my wife enjoyed the vegetables

The service was excellent given that there was only one server helping out at least eight different tables.

Finally, the bathroom was clean however it seemed to be a work in progress. Overall, I would still like to visit again and try some of their other dishes. Next time I’m in the area. And I do think that based off of what we’ve tasted so far, it is a good introduction to Filipino cuisine.

We enjoyed our initial visit a couple of years ago…but on on Wed evening the service was horrendous. After sitting down, the napkins and utensils were just dropped off in a pile. The owner/manager said he would be taking care of us…11min later no water or orders…so we went to Grasing across the street. This was what you expect in Carmel..spectacular service and incredible food/wine. i had 12 year Papi. We only had apps b/c they had no resy’s..so on to Pangaea Seafood, excellent steaks and fresh fish. The wine and cocktails were very good. Edwin’s was a disaster.

Lolah played there Saturday night and got the crowd dancing and singing along. The food and service and atmosphere all make this a place you can’t miss in Carmel-By-The-Sea.

The flavor of the food here is fantastic. Its nice to have a restaurant in Carmel that’s unique and not the usual pasta, pizza, & calamari. There’s also live music almost nightly so it makes the ambiance that much better. Go try! You’ll love the food.

We went to Edwin’s for my best friends 20th Anniversary and surely the service we received that day was nothing but the best! Exceeding expectations! Mac’s hospitality was above and beyond! All the staff were amazing! The owner was so friendly with all the customers making sure everyone was tended to. The food was awesome, Mac surprised us with the bilao full of different delicacy! So yummy! The live music was a hit! We were feeling the vibe! Salute!

I really liked the place and the overall vibe. Unfortunately, the vegetarian dishes I ordered were smelling and tasting strongly like fish, which made them completely inedible. As a vegetarian, this was very disappointing. I had to take the food to go and ended up throwing it away, which was especially frustrating given that the food was quite expensive.

I strongly recommend that the restaurant ensure vegetarian food is prepared using clean, separate utensils, or utensils dedicated exclusively to vegetarian cooking. This is extremely important for vegetarian customers and would greatly improve the experience.
