First time trying the Chorizo and Birria pizza
I really recommend the trying one of these delicious pizzas!!!
This place will be one of my top places to grab a bite
Highly recommended
PLEASE NOTE: they do offer some seating but there is strictly counter service.
Both pies were replete with meat, so I appreciated that. I’ve had the same pies at other restaurants where the chefs were pretty stingy with the toppings — but not at EdsFusion! OHHH, I also love that they give you an entire Consomé(I hope that’s what it’s called; my girlfriend upbraids me every time I get it incorrect) to dip your slices in; this was a pleasant, tasty surprise. The Birria had a blast of flavor in every bite. It was the perfect balance of cheese and sauce as well, 5/5.
Unfortunately, the Al Pastor wasn’t as tasty to me. The pork seemed slightly off, but luckily, the pizza’s pineapple, cheese, and sauce picked up the slack to let me still enjoy it, 3/5. I’ve had Magic 5 Pie Co’s Al Pastor pizza, and theirs is hands down the best I’ve tasted so far, and it’s usually my barometer.
The meatballs are the ideal size for meatballs, mainly if they are used as an appetizer. They were full of tomato sauce and the right amount of parmesan cheese. Sadly, they lacked a lot of that “homemade” taste to me; they were, shall I say, bland. Luckily, I have about four bottles of Mike Hot Honey in my cabinet, so that salvaged the meatballs. Also, I think they dropped the ball on the garlic knots. They were slightly rough rather than chewy/gooey and had no strong garlicky/parmesan flavor. That’s just my preference when having garlic knots. However, I can’t complain about the serving size.
Overall, I will return and try some standard pies and other entrees. The customer service was phenomenal; they closed in about 35 minutes when I placed the order, but still, they took it with alacrity. I’ve been met with pushback at other restaurants for ordering an hour before closing, so I truly appreciate receiving pleasant customer service since there is a shortage of that these days (eye roll).
Oh, this place is priced exceptionally reasonably for the portions given. We only spent $50 and had plenty of leftovers. Easily $85+ at other restaurants for the same dishes.
Also, my girl thought everything was delicious, but my tastebuds are a little more refined than hers, hahaha.
Adding to my review as I ordered again on Sunday to feed a group of 11 (4 teens, 7 adults). Ed’s did not disappoint! Half tray of chicken parm (so delicious), half tray of chicken francese (light, lemony, a beautiful balance to the rest of my order), 25 pizza knots (think garlic knits with delicious marinara dipping sauce), a dozen Mamma’s meatballs (my guests literally could not stop talking about how these were the best meatballs they’d ever had, ever), and of course a family size Sherwood salad (because that is my fave).
I called at 11 AM and they were ready for me to pick up at 11:45. They had it packaged so carefully and even helped to put it in my car. They gave me reheating instructions since I wasn’t going to be serving it for a few hours. And they even checked on me the next day to make sure we were pleased with our order. And lucky for me, we had plenty of leftovers, which means I don’t need to cook dinner the next couple of nights!
Very happy customer. They can count on my repeat business.
