3.3 STARS at time time of posting this review,… well it deserves another 3 STARS rating. Ordered the Ribs Quarter Rack (3 Ribs) on 3.15.2025. Starting with the 2 sides: Coleslaw tasted store bought, Mac & Cheese was actually good, cornbread with honey butter was also ok. Now for the RIBS,… tasted & felt dryer than PNW drought. Even with the sauce it wasn’t bad but RIBS tasted like was “leftover” from the previous day. Maybe my visit wasn’t the day it was cooked. I will try again (its close by) & maybe will get a better result?

I just got the chicken thigh meal, cornbread, honey butter and smoked Mac n Cheese. (9/26/24)

Chicken is tender, juicy, very flavorful. Cornbread is very yummy (butter is hard/cold so I have to warm it to apply it to the cornbread). Mac n Cheese is very good. I didn’t get the beans or the BBQ sauce with the meal.

But I’ll definitely be back!! Probably tomorrow too!!

It’s inside the Ace Hardware (wonderful workers there), the second you walk in ypu can smell the BBQ. Thanks for forcing me to come here FaceBook!!

Picked up brisket, ribs and a few sides. Meat was smoky and flavorful and not overly fatty. BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy with a little kick. Cole slaw, macaroni/potato salad and mac and cheese also fresh and flavorful. Prices area bit high but isn’t all restaurant food. We’ll be back.

We tried the brisket yesterday. We got 1lb for $30 which is a fair price for brisket in my opinion. It was enough to feed my husband and me. It was some of the best brisket I’ve ever had! My husband is a meat snob and he thoroughly enjoyed it. That’s saying a lot. Seriously the smoke and salt were just right. It melted in my mouth. If they were open today I’d be getting more! Service was also very nice.

Today was my third time trying this place, and it will probably be my last. At least the brisket was edible today, last time I came here I had to throw out the sandwich, the meat was so dry I could not even eat it. It was too dry again today, but I was able to actually eat it.

The only good deal here is the chicken thighs. $10 for a pound, they are also dry, but great on sandwiches.

Fantastic brisket and very good smoked chicken. I’ve gone here a few times now and my conclusion is that a solid barbecue joint was needed in downtown. The prices are right and your getting the most food for your money here compared to anywhere else in downtown Edmonds. In an economy where you cant eat and be full for less than $20 a meal, Edmonds Hometown Smoke ‘n BBQ manages to feed you well for $14 or $16.

They don’t take orders by phone, so make sure to order on the website rather than in person. There is no additional charge for ordering on the website like some spots.

No real comments on service or atmospherre as I was in and out quickly and didn’t order anything. I looked at the menu though and agree with some, that the prices are a bit high. I did, however, buy a container of sliced turkey that was in the cold deli area. I made delicious sandwiches all week. It is cut thick and so moist! My 4 stars is for the turkey!! I will def go back for that. Sad to see all the negative comments. This is a new place though, and hopefully they will get it together.

First time in and looking forward to some great brisket! Unfortunately, the product did not live up to the anticipation. First, the ratio of bun to brisket was overpowering. A crusty baguette would vastly improve the sandwich. The hot dog type bun did it no favors.
The brisket itself was unimpressive. The customer before me was told “You better order it now before its all gone”. Should have been a clue that you might be getting the dregs of the smoke. The brisket was dry and had pockets of fat.
The barbecue sauce was very good, but not enough to penetrate the overpowering hot dog bun.
The coleslaw was o.k., but didn’t help the overall meal.
Watching their ads since opening on Facebook clearly shows they are having start-up issues. Hopefully, as they develop a customer base they will be out of less product. No smoked turkey available at 6 o’clock tonight!
Best wishes in getting out the kinks. I’ll try again in 6 months!

This is the worst BBQ ever.
I ordered potatoe salad. Had mac noodles in it, taste sour. Had to throw out.
Chicken thighs flat, no bone over cooked.
Ribs are very small. Ordered half rack.
This was really bad paid over 60$

I got the smoked turkey. I LOVE a smoked turkey sandwich. I have to say i was pretty disappointed.. it pretty much just tasted like thick cut deli meat you buy at a store… also, the bacon was very cold and had a THICK coating of grease all over it, to the point i thought it was mayo.. but it was just cold grease.. Nothing special imo unfortunately. $15 for a basic cold lunch sandwich & a small portion of beans was not really worth it…i hope in time these guys get better at smoking & putting together a less cold sandwich..
