I first came here for n my 21st birthday as a recommendation and I have fallen in love with it ever since. I live an hour away and I still make time to visit when I can. The staff is incredible, the owner is very nice, and the drinks and food are great.(A great plus is that they have a stack of playing cards + endless board games to play). We played cards for 2 hours dismissing the time because we were having so much fun.

Went here with a friend and was excited to go again. Staff was great. Atmosphere was really fun. Loved the random decorations.
Friend got the tenderloin i got the pulled pork. We both got potato salad and coleslaw. He enjoyed the tenderloin. I really loved the pulled pork. Flavor was great. Sweet smokey mmmm. The potato salad was good. The slaw was … plain. Chopped cabbage. Not drowning in mayo which was good but no taste (to me) of vinegar or really much else. Friend stopped eating it after one bite. Given my anxiety about leaving food to waste ate it anyway.
Normally i wouldnt give a 3 just because of that. The pork was great and I’d come back for that. The 3 is because of the crunch on my teeth. I chewed on the slaw (i was pretty sure it was a clean bite without pork yet) and CRUNCH! It was so loud my friend heard it from across the table and asked if i was ok. I don’t know what it was. My molar is ok but wow. Just scared me. Must have been a bone fragment from the pork? That happens.

What a fun place to stop for lunch! Such cool decor inside and out. Service and food were great. Prices were very reasonable. We had The Big Edith with potato salad and cottage cheese. We’ll be back for sure.

We decided to give this place a try after a one year absence. Now I’m wishing we never went back. We came in for dinner on a Saturday night at 6:30, restaurant was hardly half-full. The place was filthy and there were flys everywhere.
We ordered two catfish platters which were, mind you, $16 a piece. They were advertised on the menu to be TWO fillets. After a half hour wait, we received 1 1/2 fillets. Not two. Everything on both of our plates was warm at best. You could tell the side of beans were reheated, bottom-center of the dish was piping hot while the rest of the dish was cold to the touch. My catfish breading was SOGGY and dripping in grease, which tastes fowl. The fish itself tasted like it had gone foul. Sour, paper-thin, and overall unpleasant. My wife’s catfish looked like it had been mangled by a cat before it was brought out. Even the fries were cold.
I asked our waitress if our food had been sitting in the window for a while, she claimed she grabbed it right away. After explaining our displeasure with the food and not wanting to order a refire, she said the best she could do is take 50% off. We should have just walked out but we’re afraid they might have called someone if we did. We paid our 50% off check of $32, and left. NEVER to return again.

Overall, I give this establishment 4/5 stars because the food and atmosphere were 5/5. However, the time it took to receive our food and waitstaff to check on us was 3/5. It seems they are understaffed on wait staff, but the server was very kind. Our food was amazing. We had the Edith burger, fried buffalo chicken sandwich, and French onion soup. The food is very worth the price. I would recommend this place, but expect to wait awhile for food and to speak to your server.

Your first thought when pulling up to this place is “do i really want to eat here?” The style of the building really does look like a shack but it is a fun place to eat and unique. This is the kind of place I look for when on vacation. I got one of their specialty burgers and fries and it was almost all I could do to eat it all. I’m normally one who complains about not getting enough food but that wasn’t an issue here. For that much food, the prices were very reasonable. On my nine day vacation, this was the best value for my dollar. The urinal was cut from a keg and unless you are leaning all the way in to it, you will pee all over the floor. While it was unique, it was a little gross.

When we first pulled up I was immediately reminded of a 1950’s rural roadside dinner. I knew right then that I had to investigate further and was rewarded for my curiosity by coming up to the front door which clearly stated the rules….i laughed and declared my immediate affection for the place and I hadn’t even entered! The ambiance was immediately warm and kitschy, but it made sense and wasn’t overwhelming. Our waitress Zoe( amazing, wonderful, hilarious) informed us that we could sit anywhere and when our place was chosen she informed us of the policy about getting a first time “ virgin” shot! My group and I exclaimed with excitement and when the shot was taken I realized it was called that because I was the virgin, much to my friends delight and everyone laughed at me! lol When the food arrived it was amazing! Nothing was overcooked or dry or unseasoned or over seasoned! I would gladly bring anyone and everyone here! It is a hidden gem that needs to be on diner, drive ins and dives!!! Please if you’re in Cedar Rapids and hungry go here! You won’t regret it!

This is the coolest little restaurant that has the most unique decor. The food is amazing. The waitress took the time to tell us all about Edith Lucille’s and the menu since it was our first visit. We are definitely going back and look forward to trying other items on the menu. I highly recommend going her if you love trying cool restaurants with an eye-catching atmosphere and amazing food.

Our family was in town for an honor band program from several hours away. We had several hours to kill and planned on hiking amd fishing at the nearby state park. Once we dropped one member off at Coe, we hit Edith Lucille’s for some bait, and fortunately they had just opened and had just what we needed. We thought the atmosphere was pretty neat and hoped it would work out well for us ro come back later to eat.
Later that night we made our way back for dinner. The wings were wonderful, the burgers hot and huge and our son got to put a dollar up which made his night. It was a fun atmosphere and our server was prompt and checked on our table often, and we enjoyed her friendliness and upbeat attitude. A+ all around.
