Edie restaurant has been family owned since 1973. The restaurant does not take credit cards, only cash or checks. When you walk in, you have a choice of table, booth, or bar stool. Edie is known for its breakfast food and burgers for lunch. We enjoyed our pancakes and omelettes. The prices were reasonable, but they charge 50 cents for additional vegetables.
The bathrooms are located in the basement. When we went there to wash our hands, we noticed it smelled of stale cigarettes.
The service was nonexistent. The waitress took our order but never checked on us. She never refilled our water or ask us about our food. The waitress spent most of the time sitting next to us playing on her phone instead of checking on her customers. We would not recommend this place and do not plan to be back.

This spot definitely has the old diner vibes. It is in a run down building and the whole setup is outdated. However, the service we got from Norma was wonderful. She not only checked in but she also generously refilled our coffees. The menu has a very accommodating layout where they have options to the quantity and add ons. The price was decent, but it wasn’t the cheapest for what it is. However, we did enjoy the breakfast. The French toast and pancakes had the perfect dense texture. It wasn’t too sweet, and it was perfectly cooked. I got the scrambled eggs and my partner got over medium eggs. Both eggs were cooked perfectly! It isn’t the best breakfast we had, but it was definitely decent and exactly what we needed when the options were limited while being on the road.

Excellent little breakfast place in Fairmont, I got the 2 egg omelette with some extras and it was fabulous. The service was great and the venue is in a cool, historic building.

It helps to appreciate small town history and architecture when visiting here. The story behind the place, the efforts and sacrifices made to keep the place open. I love the bar stool setting option, makes you feel like you’re in an old school dinner. All that along with the best coffee! the freshest basic breakfast options you’ll find around and delicious pancakes! is why I give the rating. Edie’s is definitely a place I will routinely visit when in the area.

Grew up going here with my grandparents. Great hash browns and omelets. Classic hole in the wall place with affordable prices. Nothing fancy by any means, but nostalgic and we always look forward to going.

Seriously terrible place, terrible service the waitress was the literaly worse waitress I’ve had In My life, did not have a card in the world. The wait time was a LITERAL HOUR and then the food came and it wasn’t fresh. Then the bill came and the waitress didn’t even ask if we were gonna be seperate and it came back 59$ for the worst dining experience of my life so far. The place is run down the employees don’t cover their mouth when sneezing or coughing it’s sick and I’m never going back for all intents and purposes you should avoid this place too! From looking at the other reviews it seems you either get a one star experience or a decent one, you’re better off going to literally any other place.

Edie’s is always a welcome sight. Classic diner with simple selections done well. Pancakes the size of the moon, served with warm maple syrup and real butter. Omelettes are always good.
It’s in need of a face lift for sure, but you love to see all the original architecture and designs, even in its age-worn state.
There’s more history here than you can even take in, and undoubtedly there are some of the original regulars or their children, or even grandchildren, that come to support this small town gem as patrons.
I will say, the prices are a little high for what you would expect, at least for me coming from out of town. And I don’t believe there is an ADA accessible bathroom on the main floor. This hasn’t been a deterrent for me, but you may want to plan accordingly. Also, plan to take your time. The food takes a little while. But rest assured, you’ll probably enjoy it, especially in good company.
They are cash or check only, like many small businesses in little towns can be, so have your check book handy or shoot over to an ATM before visiting.
All in all, it’s lovely. It’s charming. It’s warm. It’s classic.
