Words can’t describe how exceptional the food and service is at Edesma. The owner and staff greeted us and meticulously went over the menu with us and made wonderful suggestions.

What a nice experience last night! Went here with my best friend after a long day of work, just starving and hoping for some decent Greek food.. ended up with a pleasant surprise exceeding any expectations! Owners/Chef & Server Mario were so welcoming & made it feel like a fine dining experience. Honestly felt transported to Europe for an hour or so. Food was delicious.. the Tzatziki sauce was other worldly & the hummus.. everything fresh & thoughtfully prepared. And the chocolate desert topped with baklava syrup & crumbs.. to die for. Thank you for a great time all around! Will be back.

Very nice place! Food is excellent, service is amazing, and the bread is to die for. Portions for appetizers—and in general—are pretty large and almost everything is one size, so come very hungry and bring some extra money. The place is also very clean, the staff is welcoming, and everyone else seems to also enjoy the food.
I came back about 4 times now this past month and haven’t been disappointed! The location isn’t the best—it’s in Hempstead which generally isn’t the best of neighborhoods—and there’s little to no parking. There are also not too many tables; I have yet to go there on a busy night but I’m sure there’ll be a wait if you go on one. Overall, I highly recommend Il Cantone Cafe if you’re in the area and are looking for some really good Italian food!!

I was extremely surprised with the great customer service, soon as you walk in it feels like you’re home, John the owner very pleasant man professional kind hearted, do you feel like you’ve known him 20 years, Jayda our waitress was fantastic, recommendations were spot on service was great, and she’s very pleasant, Everyone I came with the contact here was very friendly, The biggest surprise was how delicious and flavorful the food here is, it’s not just your typical Pizzeria they have a dining area and the food is just as good as Umberto’s, This place is very well run and it shows in how they treat their customers, I felt like a VIP , I will definitely be back, if you happen to be in the area stop by the food is delicious, grilled chicken bruchetta was the best I ever had

This is a very cute family owned greek place. The food is very traditional and not overly priced and is fantastic. You can never have a bad meal here. The owner is amazing. He’s super friendly and very personable, and his brother is the chef. We will definitely be returning and definitely recommend to friends.

Our party of eight went there for dinner. The food was the most authentic I have ever experienced on Long Island, it was delicious. The staff and owner were exceptionally attentive and kind. They have only been there since February and my hope is that they are very successful and stay in the area for many years to come. The restaurant will definitely be one of my favorites. We’ll be back for our annual girls night soon!

One of the best new restaurants we have tried recently! The minute you walk in, there is a warm welcome and you feel like you’re part of the family. The menu is the most authentic Greek food that you can get in the US. The sharing plates are generous portions while still allowing the family style sharing that it is designed for. We had the dip sampler, which the eggplant dip is absolutely delicious!! If you run out of pita, not a worry, they bring more and brought a bonus sampling of their hummus! We also got the grilled shrimp, tigania (delicious seasoned pork cubes) and the beef souvlaki. All the dishes were seasoned well and the portions good for sharing. Do yourself a favor and save room for desert!! We got the orange custard, which is so satisfying sweet and delicious and pairs exceptionally well with the Greek coffee. Both the owner and the waitress were so attentive and offered explanations about the menu items and made sure we were comfortable for the entirety of the meal. A definite gem of a restaurant in Franklin Square! We will definitely return.

We came here for Mother’s Day dinner and it was exceptional! The food was authentic Greek food and was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and the fish and seafood were out of this world! they have tons of different dishes to chose from. The service was amazing and our waitress was very attentive. We will definitely be back!
