A Fine Dining Experience at Eden, Story Resort

We had the pleasure of dining at Eden, a restaurant located within the Story Resort, and were impressed by the fine and formal atmosphere. Our dinner was served in the patio, which added to the elegance of the experience.

The food was truly exceptional, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. We particularly enjoyed the lobster tail, which was cooked to perfection and paired well with the wine glasses we selected. However, we felt that the wine list could be more extensive and better suited to the restaurant’s high standards.

The dessert was outstanding, and the view overlooking Beau Vallon Bay added to the ambiance of the evening. The service was attentive and professional.

Recommendation: Try the lobster tail and don’t miss the dessert! The patio seating offers a lovely view of Beau Vallon Bay.

This restaurant belongs to the Story resort, and it was only open for dinner service when we were there (July). It has some outside seating just by the beach. There is also a smaller patio dining area. The food was great but not wow. Pakora was lovely. The Grouper was also nice, though there were whole peppercorns hidden somewhere in the dish! There is a dedicated kids menu section as well. Service was friendly and nice throughout.

We were staying at Story and chose to eat at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the vegetable curry that I took was so salty that you could not eat it. My husband took the beef tenderloin dish which was tasty but had a bad surprise at the end with a piece of plastic wrap inside the dish. They offered me a new plate, however it was already late and took time to be served. The white wine was also warm. This is clearly an overpriced restaurant compared to the quality and service you can get at Trader’s Vic for example.

The worst service I’ve ever had. Incompetent and rude waiters, especially the girl named Alexandra, were truly inappropriate and unhelpful. The chef left the kitchen without waiting for us to finish our meal. We couldn’t order dessert or anything else. The food was good enough, but overpriced and overrated. I’ve never experienced such treatment. Highly discouraged.

This place is only ok for being one of the best rated restaurants in many lists about fine dining in Mahe. Service was average, the sitting on the beach is dark and you can see your food for dinner, and the food itself was ok but way too expensive for what they serve (in terms of flavour).
Also, the menu is not very clear about what comes in the dishes, so I recommend reiterating any food allergies or restrictions (e.g. a started that didn’t say anything about a toast, came served on a bread and one of us couldn’t eat because is celiac)

It was expensive but that’s not the main reason for the 2 stars. Location was excellent we ate in front of the sea. But food was way below average. Especially for the price we paid, I was expecting much more… When judging a restaurant, at the end taste is the king…

Waited over an hour for our food to arrive. Watched guests that came after us get their food prior and the restaurant was not busy. Service was average, communication could have been better from the staff and kitchen. Food was mediocre (lacking flavour) especially for the price paid compared to all of our other dining experiences on Mahe. The rice paper rolls does not marry up with the menu description – it isn’t filled with spicy tofu, plain tofu comes seperately to the rice paper rolls instead of inside them. It is very dark/dim lighting so it’s hard to read the menu and see your food, an older gentleman fell down as he didn’t see the step which isn’t obvious in the dark. The only positive was the beach outdoor location on the sand listening to the waves.

We were guests in the hotel and according to everyone’s recommendation, Eden should have been the best restaurant of the resort. All in all it’s good because of the location next to the beach/sea and the beautiful atmosphere with lanterns and fires. The food was okay but regarding the price level, it was not outstanding enough. Also the service wasn’t really motivated to create a unique experience.

The fish dishes were well prepared and amazingly not overcooked. Way overpriced of course as it’s in a resort, but it was actually pretty decent. The catch of the day is recommended as is the “other catch of the day.” Cocktails are a reasonable effort, if weak and overpriced.

The setting , the location and the prices set a high expectations, however, the restaurant fails to deliver.
The food mostly plain and tasteless, far bellow the standard you get used to around Seychelles.
To add that, the service is not really professional, the waiter was not too familiar with the menu , you eat in complete darkness unable to read the menu or see the food.
