Thank you!
It was not.
It was prepared properly. It was seasoned well and cooked to the correct temperature, but it was tough and stringy. It was the leanest and toughest ribeye I have ever had. A simple press with a utensil or a thumb from the cook should have revealed the toughness and a visual examination would have seen the lack of fat and surplus of gristle with a big ridge right through the middle.
Everything else about our experience was great. The desserts were fabulous, the rest of the food was delicious, but not $200+ a seat delicious. The service was good, people were friendly and accommodating. It was a little too dimly lit as we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menus and it was a little louder than you’d expect.
Overall this place is way overrated and insanely overpriced. You can easily find better food for half the price all over.
I definitely recommend trying their Mojo Shrimp and Scallops and surf and turf.
I was not the biggest fan of lobster mash potatoes, as the lobsters there tasted really fishy.
For cocktail drinkers, I really recommend trying berry white martini!
The girl who was refilling waters and taking away plates was the friendliest out of all the service staff. The waiter and the manager that came up never asked if we are celebrating anything, but other than that the whole dining experience was 10/10. Food was the best part!
We visited Eddie Merlot’s on a quiet Thursday night—party of three. We had a reservation, but it turned out to be unnecessary as the place wasn’t busy at all. There was plenty of parking right around the building, which made arriving stress-free.
We were seated immediately, and our server greeted us promptly with water and took our drink orders. The service remained consistent and attentive throughout the evening—empty glasses didn’t stay empty long!
Our order:
Lobster Mac & Cheese
4 oz Louisiana steak (with shrimp & sausage)
16 oz New York Strip
Side of mushrooms
Calamari appetizer
Crème brûlée
Chocolate cake
1 soda
The steaks were absolutely fantastic—cooked to perfection, flavorful, and juicy. The lobster mac and cheese was rich and indulgent, and the desserts were a great way to end the meal. The only small miss was the calamari, which was a bit too salty and heavily battered for our taste.
The ambiance was upscale yet soothing, great for a relaxed dinner. Even the women’s restroom was a pleasant surprise: clean, well-maintained, and stocked with extras like mouthwash and cups—always a thoughtful touch.
Total before tip: $200 — well worth it for the quality, service, and experience.
We’d definitely return, especially for the steaks and overall service. Maybe we’ll skip the calamari next time.
Bon Appétit
The atmosphere seems to cater more toward an older crowd. It’s traditional rather than trendy, which is fine, just not really our vibe.
Service was okay, but there were a few hiccups. Our server had to take my phone to use Apple Pay, which felt a little uncomfortable. He also forgot our complimentary champagne toast until we reminded him, and we had to ask about our boxed leftovers because they weren’t brought back.
Overall, for the price point, it wasn’t a bad experience but not one we’d likely return for.
