It was OK. I had a breakfast omelette that was a bit pricey but fine. I passed on the coffee as it was self serve and in paper cups. Seemed that a Swedish fika is worthy of a real cup, so I passed on the fika experience.
My friend did have fika. His coffee was fine and the two pastries he bought were good. He offered me a small taste of the almond bun he bought and it was quite good. He also had a maple glazed danish that he enjoyed.
I bought a sugar topped cardamom braid, and almond braid, and two vörtlimpa to take home. The almond braid was fine. The vörtlimpa was lacking in flavor, in my opinion, so I saved a few slices to make breadcrumbs for meatballs and threw the rest away. I had bought two so I could give one away as a gift, but it was really not gift worthy.
The biggest disappointment by far was the cardamom braid. If there were any cardamom in that loaf, they did an excellent job of hiding it. I’m very fond of cardamom coffee bread and have it often. This was by the far the most anemic braid I’ve ever had. I threw it out.
My bottom line recommendation is that you have breakfast somewhere else and avoid the breads and coffee braids. Many of the small pastries, though, are quite nice.

I honestly could not tell you a better place to get some astonishingly good prices sweets and treats. I’m moving out to college in a few months and have already decided I’m going to be grabbing bundles of some of their cookies to bring with me and share. This place is amazing everyone is always warm and open to welcoming you. My best friend and I come here once a week for a little bakery run. Absolutely a must have and a great business in Jamestown New York.

I don’t know what they do to stuff here, but all the bakery items have a “special” taste —even the white bread and rolls. The cakes are delicious with thick old-fashioned buttercream. The cream horns are a favorite with a super flaky shell and tasty fluffy filling. I’ve tried local bakeries around the country and have never found one as good as Ecklof.

This bakery has more choices and options than the average bakery. I’m from Erie and have been passing thru Jamestown omw to Warren PA for a job I’m working on and I have stopped here at least a half dozen times within the last few weeks to get their cream cheese Danish and it tastes fantastic. Not too sweet like Mighty Fine donuts in Erie where they dump a half of a cup of sugar in each donut. Ecklof’s donuts are just the right mixture of ingredients where you don’t need to wash each donut down with a gallon of coffee to neutralize the crazy amount of sugar other bakeries like Mighty Fine Donuts in Erie puts in their donuts and pastries.

Bakery is SO GOOD!! Food is very good. You order and pay at the counter. Personally I prefer a restaurant with wait staff but its certainly not a deal breaker. I don’t think anyone cares about the atmosphere because they are there for the wonderful baked goods and most grab to-go orders.

The best breakfast sandwiches outside of NYC, maybe even better. Our toddler loves getting a pink stripe cookie each visit!

I had never heard of ‘korv’ before, but had it as a burger with the Lingonberry and it was excellent. They had a really nice selection of pies and pastries as well. It has certainly earned a sold position on the ‘must stop’ places whenever we’re in the greater Busti (Jamestown) area!

Awful. Boring tasteless pastry, bread was a dry pitiful excuse. I’ve eaten better things my 6 year old make from a mix!!! There has to be a decent bakery in Jamestown….right/help?
