We went for happy hour. The prices were comparable and presentation was on point. I had the espresso martini and it was a 10/10. The only reason I give the food four stars is most of the food on the happy hour menu had nuts and someone in my party was allergic. So, they could incorporate more nut free options to be more inclusive. If I’m in the area again, I would return .

Just wow! The chef, Thomas, came out to greet us and shared with us his personal creations. Our party enjoyed the cheese board, endive salad, crispy eggplant, roasted duck, lamb stew, and wagyu beef cheeseburger. Each dish was carefully created and infused with flavor. For dessert we had the peach/apple tart and the chocolate mouse/pistachio ice cream. The fruit tart was amazing! Thank you, Thomas!

Went here to celebrate an anniversary and WOW it was a great decision. The vibe was classy but not super duper fancy, and the background music was fantastic (great hits). Service was impeccable! William fantastically answered our questions, told stories about the wines, and went above and beyond to make our night special. We ordered the seared scallops, grilled quail, and butcher’s steak. Scallops were amazing, steak was absolutely fantastic, and the quail was full of flavor. We also ordered the olive oil cake and it had SO much flavor. They also offer wine classes that we will definitely be checking out in the future. Overall, a wonderful experience!

So far this is my top pick for wine bars in Richmond! The city atmosphere and great hospitality all the hostess and servers show will be the first thing that captures your attention. Secondly, we were seated downstairs in the cutest section away from the bustle of upstairs (which also has a window that peeks into the kitchen if you’re into that.) The wine selection is extensive and if you aren’t someone who comes in with a specific bottle in mind I highly suggest ordering the $20 wine flight. I loved the tapas serving style for the food and it really tasted great. I’ll be back here soon !

Came here for my birthday to try the tasting menu and while it was delightful, it was not filling for dinner. My husband and I ordered a bistro filet to split after the last tasting course. It’s still a really good deal for the price and we will definitely be back. I could see this being a great after work drink spot.

Ryan is the mvp. Great server. The wine selection was fantastic. Highly recommend the Malbec and trying the red flight. Cocktails were also fantastic. Cheeseboard + burrata a bit pricey but still delicious. Great fancy spot to enjoy with friends 🙂

The chef is inspired here at Echelon. Be prepared to be wowed by the tastes and textures created by the chef. We were in for brunch followed by for one of the Echelon wine tastings (not to be missed!!). Lunch entrees were inventive, tasty and an adequate size serving. I can’t wait to return for dinner. This restaurant is a destination worth traveling for!

We stopped by for an appetizer and a couple glasses of wine on Friday evening. The service was excellent. We ordered the cheese board. The homemade focaccia was gluten free and tasted amazing. I was honestly pretty disappointed in the cheese selection on the board. One was a bleu cheese, I don’t mind bleu cheese but it seems out of place on a cheese board, especially with no warning on the menu. The middle cheese (I think it was Parmesan?) lacked flavor overall. The final cheese was a soft goat cheese and it was delicious. The board is also served with a variety of fruits, jams, and nuts which is an awesome touch. Overall it was a decent experience.
