TOP SHELF!

We had dinner here with our family last week to celebrate our niece achieving her doctorate degree and we had an incredible experience.

Kevin did a fabulous job serving us with recommendations and lightning quick service. He kept everyone’s drinks filled the whole time and made it that more special with his attention.

I had the salmon with risotto and Brussels sprouts. It was a great combination of a tasty fish with savory notes in the Brussels sprouts. The appetizers were very good as well. Several people had the pasta with mushrooms and said it was delicious as well.

The atmosphere was very comfortable but not overdone.

Stop scrolling, stop looking for a restaurant, just do yourself a favor and GO! This is by far one of the best restaurants that I’ve ever been to.

The food was PERFECT. I wish I would’ve taken pictures but I was too busy eating and enjoying the moment. You can tell they make everything from scratch and with fresh ingredients. We never really get dessert hut we were celebrating Valentine’s Day so we ordered a cheesecake and chocolate mousse. OMG, they were AMAZING. The consistency, the texture, the perfect sweetness…

We ordered quite some food and the bill was WAY LESS than expected and the staff was so friendly!

I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m visiting Memphis again.

Exceptional experience at Ecco on Overton Park. We had a party of 5 and every person loved their dish. Great service from our knowledgeable server Kevin. Fairly large restaurant with an upscale flair but had a cozy relaxed atmosphere. Had the Fritto Misto, Crab Claws (these are a must!), Lobster Ravioli, Halibut, Beef Stroganoff, Sausage Orecchiette, and an amazing dessert. Make the trip to visit this restaurant!

This was my first visit and we loved it! We started with the Fritto Misto appetizer, which is fried Zucchini and Squash spears in a Tempura style batter served with a delicious sauce. It was incredible! For our entrees, we chose the Butternut Squash Ravioli and Spaghetti with Wild Mushrooms. We ordered the full portion size of each and are very glad we did, as the full portion of Ravioli is still rather small. Considering Raviolis are a more labor intensive dish to make, I can understand why, but I would certainly make sure to get a side dish with it in the future. The Spaghetti with Wild Mushrooms was a fantastic portion size though and was quite filling. For desert we had the Oreo Cheesecake and the Tiramisu. The Oreo Cheesecake came with a Strawberry Sauce and a Blackberry Sauce. I never thought to pair Oreo Cheesecake with a Blackberry Sauce, but I am so very glad they did. It was amazing together! Our favorite beverage of the night was the Tequi Tiki Tavi. Not only was it fun to say, it’s also one of the best cocktails we’ve had in Memphis. The server was very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious! We decided the Fritto Misto was our favorite dish of the night. The atmosphere was perfect. They had a very talented Musician playing Guitar with a volume where you could enjoy the music, but still have a conversation without having to raise your voice. It was refreshing. We look forward to our next visit.

Honest and detailed review.

I’ve been to Ecco four times (including today) total since 2021. It’s been a 50% success ratio on flavor and service. Whether they were understaffed OR the food was just bland needing flavor (salt). The two times that Ecco was good, it was really great!

Today was a complete fail and I think will be my last time going to Ecco. I came in for the Hawaiian Ribeye that was advertised on their IG. It looked immaculate, I was blown away. I come in to order it, waiter told me there may only be one left. She found out it was and it was mine.

So the ribeye comes out with the butter on top. Looks GOOD. I saved room and didn’t eat lunch with the expectation of being blown away. I ignored the fact that the ribeye was somewhat flat. Cut into it and it is RAW. I always eat medium rare, it’s the only way to eat a steak! This was RAW.

The Brussel sprouts were the best thing on the plate! Actually really good. The potatoes were devoid of flavor, I couldn’t even taste the parm. No salt at all. The ribeye was a pretty rubbish cut. I can go to Sam’s and purchase two pack of thick, fat ribeyes for $36 dollars or a Wagyu Strip from Kroger for $30. $42 for a cut that I probably could get at Chili’s, the pricing could have been better for a thin ribeye.

I don’t ask for comps on meals. The server was great, I tipped her 25% for being so kind. I ate the food they brought back out reheated just because I was hungry. It sucks that management didn’t even come out AT ALL to apologize for this awful blip. I think some Memphis restaurants are comfortable because they’ve been here for a while. The people who come to eat food are looking for quality eats. I’m not asking for Michelin star, I’ve had plenty of that. Just give us the quality food AND service we know that Memphis food can provide. It’s crazy to me because Tonica has been spot-on every time, while the main franchise continues to disappoint. This isn’t the type of attention to detail I’d expect from a family-operated local restaurant that has been open as long as them. Hopefully, my review and picture will wake them up.

Celebrated my birthday with my daughter and her beau. I had the lamb and it was amazing , the presentation was beautiful and the flavors popped. The cocktail was also quite delightful ! The tequila Tavi ? They came for me with a nice strawberry – blueberry cobbler that was light and tasty ! Nice touch with the ice cream and long burn sparkling candle ☺️

During our recent date night, we made reservations in advance and were warmly welcomed by a friendly hostess who clearly enjoyed her role.

After being seated, we were informed that our server would be with us shortly. However, “shortly” turned into a lengthy 15 minutes before my date finally had to catch the attention of a nearby employee.

While we waited, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant, which was quite pleasant. However, we couldn’t help but notice that we were the only African Americans in the establishment. We tried not to let this cloud our experience, but after another 5-7 minutes without any acknowledgment (for a total of over 20 minutes), our waiter finally arrived and apologized for the delay.

We decided to order a few items from the menu, including Crab Claws and Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Unfortunately, the Crab Claws were somewhat disappointing—overcooked and chewy at times. The Brussels Sprouts, on the other hand, were perfectly cooked but lacked any real flavor.

We continued to order more food, but the overall experience fell flat with everything tasting just average. The highlight of the meal ended up being the house-made cheesecake with an Oreo crust, which was genuinely enjoyable.

In total, we spent over $230, and while the cheesecake was a treat, the likelihood of us returning is slim unless it’s just to grab a slice to go!

It’s in a nice quiet part of Memphis. Had reservations for 7pm but had to wait about 20-30 minutes to be seated. It was very busy and loud inside. After being seated, it took about 10 before anyone came over to serve us. We had to ask for complimentary bread. Other than that, the service was good. Good came out pretty quickly and seemed fresh. I would come here again.

I had the lobster ravioli and red snapper special. Everything was seasoned, fresh, and piping hot. The drinks were great. I sat at the bar and got the best service ever. The overall staff was pleasant. It’s a vibe of dress up or super casual. Worth the try and a repeat restaurant.
