My children and I frequently pass by your location, and the sign always catches our attention. After much anticipation, we decided to give it a try. My children were especially excited upon arrival, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations.
To begin, the prices seemed fair, and there was a wide selection of ice cream flavors and toppings. However, there were a few issues that significantly impacted our visit. We had a playdate scheduled, so I made sure to inform the cashier that all of our items were to-go. I ordered hot dogs and cheese fries for my 3y.o and 5y.o. My 3-year-old does not like mustard, so I specifically requested a hot dog with just ketchup and another with mustard and ketchup (which is clearly noted on the receipt).
Issue 1: Incorrect Order and Customer Service Response After about 15 minutes, we received our order, and upon reaching the car, I realized that my ice cream flavor was incorrect. I immediately returned to the window to inform the cashier of the mistake. The cashier insisted that the flavor was what I had ordered, as it was reflected on my receipt. I explained that this was not the case, and if I wanted to correct it, I would need to pay for a new one. Fortunately, a manager overheard the exchange and kindly allowed me to swap the flavor at no extra charge.
Issue 2: Incorrect Food Order Upon arriving at our destination, about 35 minutes away, I discovered that my 3-year-old’s hot dog was made with mustard, despite my explicit request for ketchup only. I called the store to report the issue. The employee who answered the phone was unprofessional, scoffing at my concern before passing the call to a male employee. During the conversation, the male employee argued with me, cutting me off mid-sentence and insisting that he remembered making the order correctly. He claimed that the error was my fault because I did not correct the order when it was read back to me, even though the cashier did indeed read everything correctly. The issue was that the food was made incorrectly, despite my clear instructions being listed on the receipt.
To further address my concerns, he offered me a virtual coupon, which I never received. However, I do not intend to return to your establishment.
Other Observations Throughout our visit, the overall customer service was lackluster. The staff appeared disinterested and disengaged, with no smiles or warmth. For example, when my 5-year-old expressed that he wanted “blue ice cream,” he repeated it multiple times to the cashier, who showed him two different blue-colored options. Despite this, two out of three of our ice cream flavors were still wrong.
Given the positive reputation I had heard about your establishment, I expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, this visit left me thoroughly disappointed, both in terms of food quality and customer service.
I hope you take this feedback into consideration to improve future customer experiences.
Attached is the photo of the hot dog that supposedly was made with just ketchup.
Sincerely,
Mrs. TKW
Friendly, super engaged young servers (seems like a fun summer job for local highschoolers). However, my husband asked for a baby scoop, and our server was so intent on that size being too small, that she ended up getting him to order a “small” (instead of the one scoop “baby” size) and he said it *was* indeed too much for him in the end.
But I get it–they are eager!
The flavor I had (Charlie Brownie) was rich and creamy and multi-textured. I’d recommend for serious chocolate lovers! I was also excited that the ice cream was (apparently) from a creamery based out of Scranton! #ShopLocal
Great summer hours! (Open until 10pm). Note that the inside space closes at 8pm.
I was curious, the sign says ice cream, *hot dogs & hamburgers*, but I don’t see anything but Ice cream on the menu? Is that possibly only for service when the “inside” is open?
All in all, a Wonderful, fun summer evening ice cream spot!
They gave her birthday cake instead. My other daughter tried a little to see if they mistaken that it was blue, but it was surely birthday cake.
I took it up to ask them for the correct one. Mind you, it’s just a kids size. The lady was so taken back. And said well it said birthday cake. I verified that we didn’t order birthday with our $50 order. She said there wasn’t anything she could do. She went to the girl who took my order who verified that it was supposed to be cotton candy. So she went to the manager who came out full speed yelling at me saying that it’s not their policy to replace ice cream. I was like they gave me the wrong one. And the manager said that since someone tried it we don’t take it back and she read the order back so it’s not our fault. I explained that my daughter asked her for a blue ice cream, she said you have cookie monster and cotton candy. She asked for cotton candy. She it was rung in wrong and that isn’t my fault and it was a simple mistake, but it’s a kids ice cream, please just fix the mistake. As she was stomping away yelling and flailing her arms and yelling at her staff for talking to my daughter about blue ice cream which was so completely wrong of that manager.
This place doesn’t take criticism well and seems to respond with the exact same response to every negative review which shows that she doesn’t really care at all what is said.
We will not be back and we feel bad for that worker.
They’ve got a good range of flavors—soft serve was excellent and probably what I’d come back for. The graham cracker ice cream was enjoyable too. But heads-up: some of the flavors are extremely sweet. The cookie dough was so sugary my wife didn’t want to finish it “Diabetes in a cup” came to mind. The chocolate brownie was also pushing it on sweetness.
Also, minor curiosity—despite the name, they don’t serve chicken burgers, just the standard burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting.
Overall, it’s a fun spot with potential, but I wish they’d dial back the sugar just a bit. Still worth a visit—especially for the soft serve.
