The food looked like a delicate piece of art and it was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was relaxing. The waitress was nice. We ordered two different sushi rolls. We also drank hot Saké. I definitely recommend going down the list of delectable items and choosing which ones match your taste buds. I’ll be coming back, for sure.

Second time here and service was slow today. We were seated right away, but waited easily 10-15 minutes before someone took our order, not even drinks before that. There were only 2 other tables occupied during this time. Once we ordered, the food came reasonably fast and was hot. My Pad Thai looked really good and was made to order, but it was kinda bland. I don’t think it had any egg in it, either. My dining partner got chicken katsu with Japanese curry, and he said it was really good. Presentation was nice.

We’ve been to Star Thai several times prior to writing this review and every meal has been exceptional. This is our favorite Thai/Oriental cuisine in the area. Today we ordered Fresh Roll appetizers with the Star fried rice and Pad Kee-Mow as main entrees — everything was delicious. The presentation and service was also excellent.

We had both chicken and shrimp tempura and we’re disappointed. Mostly tempura batter with little meat. The crab ragoon had a curry additive which my wife couldn’t eat. However the service was fine and the decor OK.

This is a small little resturant. The food is always great. It’s might seem like it’s a little pricey, but honestly it’s not. You get so much food. I’ve been here many, many times and never walked away dissatisfied. I’ve tried so many things on their menu, and have yet to find anything I didn’t think was amazing.
Plus if you are looking to try it out, they have great lunch specials too!

I had the most amazing time! I have been here once before and really liked it. I came back for the lunch special and I’m so glad that I did! My service was AMAZING and the food was excellent. For $10.95 I got two sushi rolls and a salad (you can also choose to get soup). My food came out so fresh and so fast!
I also had one of the sweetest servers I’ve ever had! I will definitely be coming back here.

Atmosphere and decor is enjoyable, good bar selections, service is absolutely excellent, staff and ownership is genuinely very nice, presentation of the food is excellent, major props for being a place in Florida that actually genuinely maintains in both staff and clientele the proper pandemic precautions compared to all too many other places. I’m not commenting about the pricing simply because I’m not familiar with the general area to offer an informed comparison. I would love to give this place a higher rating though, but as someone who enjoys sushi and is normally happy to eat it in formidable quantities, in two separate experiences here I just wasn’t into it. That’s not to say that the food was unpalatable, but if I’m to exercise my consistent integrity of offering honest reviews, I just didn’t find myself wanting to fill up on their food, wasn’t eager to finish or eat more.

Smallish restaurant with about 7 tables & sushi bar. Service was slow but friendly. Food is well priced, for dinner for 2 plus 2 apps and 2 beers was less than $50. My chicken pad Thai was okay. Not terrible but not best ever, needed more flavor, was bland but my husband tried it and said it was good. It was a huge portion, I only was able to eat 1/3 of my dinner. My husband had yellow curry and said it was pretty good but could use some more spice. He also had dumplings and said they were good. May or may not go back. Sarasota seems to lack good Thai restaurants and my favorite is far from my house. Might ask for more spice next time, that could make it better.

The atmosphere, the service and the food were excellent. This is a diamond in the rough. The food was amazing. I had Sushi and my friend had Pad Thai. We were both very pleased with our meal and with the price. I will definitely be back to this restaurant and will recommend it to everyone. I am a very happy customer and so happy I found this great Thai place.
