For the quality of food, think Bay Street Charleston. For the price of food, it is very acceptable for the quality, quanity, and slelction. Atmosphere, think about a train stop from 100 to 150 years ago. You can settle in, be comfortable and get lost in the pictures and RR memories. To make things even better, The Eatery is located right beside an active Norfolk Southern track and it runs through Branchville several times a week. If you would like to eat at a low key, home feeling resturant with a menu that reminds you of days gone by with a price that you can afford, this is it.

Exceptional food, very reasonable prices! Be sure to visit the adjoining railroad museum. Branchville, SC is the site of the world’s oldest railroad junction!

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food is outstanding. Prime rib is on point. Crab dip is phenomenal. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The folks that live near this restaurant absolutely are very very lucky. The atmosphere and ambience inside of the old Depot is as good as the food. As you sit in the Depot eating your meal, a train may come by As the railroad tracks are still used. This is an absolute treasure. To feel the train rumble by as you eat southern cuisine inside of a historic passenger train Depot.. That experience cannot be matched. The Eatery At The Depot is an absolute must try and worth the drive from Charleston Florence Columbia, or anywhere within 100 miles. you owe it to yourself and to your pallet to drive to small town Branchville and eat a meal inside of the historic Depot. The Eatery At The Depot is an absolute unequivocal must try.

Absolutely wonderful. The server was friendly and efficient. Prices were what was expected. If you are going for an evening meal, call for a reservation to make it easier. It was an hour to get there and worth every minute of drive time.

We were really disappointed with the meal, this is what the shrimp and grits looks like if you get it for carryout, not a lot of food considering what they charge for the shrimp and grits, and it was put in a cardboard container, that soaked up all the water out of the grits and got it so wet it wet the bottom of the bag it was in, after a 15 minute drive home, the grits was completely scaled over and hard in the bottom and just not fit to eat, it should have been in a styrofoam tray. Also got a chicken tender kids meal, they did put that in a styrofoam tray, but it should have put some wax paper or tinfall under it, the chicken was so hot it melted through the styrofoam and gave it a yucky taste, we were really disappointed in the quantity and quality of the food

What a wonderful dining experience!
The food was delicious, wait staff and atmosphere was great. Tucked away in a small town that is charming. Only disappointment was that they did not have the prime rib (which was on menu) and were out of their signature pie!! The train museum attached to it was a bonus and the gentleman who was there gave us a great tour and info. We will be back!

Hold onto your taste buds! I visited The Eatery and their pan sautéed scallops were a revelation – perfectly seared morsels of ocean delight, creating a symphony of flavors in my mouth. It’s as if the chef whispered a secret to each scallop before cooking it to perfection. The scallops had me daydreaming of seaside escapades with each bite, and the ambiance and service at the restaurant only amplified the experience. If your soul craves a culinary adventure, make a beeline to this delightful restaurant for these scallops. Trust me, your palate will thank you for the indulgence!

Well, we planned on the prime rib… and if you are as well, avoid Saturday. We were told that they sold out from Thursday and Friday nights. Our groups heart sank. The prime rib should be erased from the chalk board menu out front. We even brought their own favorite Horseradish. Salivating for prime rib. It was my first time there. We had appetizers, alternate selections & took dessert pie home. Service was on point & Swift. We also planned time for the museum. That was Closed. Local Christmas event was going on that was nice. #DINNINGWITHDARRELL
