We had three pieces of pizza and soda and the garlic knots. Two of the three slices were OK. The third was overcooked. But the garlic knots were OUTSTANDING. I would go back just for them.

I picked this place because it had decent reviews and I was really in the mood for good pizza. The price was pretty high, but I figured it was downtown and maybe it would be a hidden gem or something like that. If you want to “eat the best pizza “, go somewhere else. This is quite literally worse than a little Caesars hot and ready…. reheated it after it’s been in the fridge for a day. (that’s an all-time low for me.)

The pizza tasted like it was under a heat lamp all day, thin and absolutely tasteless. I could not believe I paid that much money for something so shitty. They weren’t able to deliver so we drove in a snowstorm to get there. It was hard to find, surprised it was in a little basement area. And the kid that was working there alone looked like he was doing his homework at a booth, selling the rest of day old pizza that was left for the night.

It’s clear this place was made for college students who are in a hurry and too busy to notice. Don’t waste your time or money.

Pizza was delicious. I had a slice of the margarita and it was awesome. I also tried the supreme. The crust is nice and crispy with a really good flavor. And it’s nice to have the option to get slices. The owner was really nice. The baklava is delicious!!

Eat the Best Pizza

My wife and I have been wanting to try more pizza places in the area and came across Eat the Best Pizza on google. After seeing some of the pictures, we knew we had to try it out as the slices looked amazing.

The location surprised us being below street level, so definitely keep your eyes peeled if you’re trying to find it. We thought it was cool being below the university bookstore. That way if you’re eating there, you can go up and shop afterward.

We decided on trying a couple of different kinds to get a variety. My wife’s favorite was the white pizza. It came with dollops of fresh ricotta on top, and she said it basically tasted like the best garlic cheese bread. It wasn’t overly greasy, and the cheese was perfectly creamy and melty.

The plain cheese pizza was also delicious. The crust was just the right amount of chewy. This was the closest to New York style pizza we have found.

My wife also tried the buffalo and chicken and loved it. The hot sauce wasn’t too spicy, but it still had a nice kick. The chicken was also pretty juicy for being out for a little bit.

The pepperoni was a nice classic. Again, it was not overly greasy, and it had a perfect sauce to cheese ratio. Would definitely get again.

We will definitely be going back to Eat the Best Pizza. We would love it if there was a closer location to us on the East side of Madison. The foldable slices were huge and a great deal for the amount of food that you’re getting.

Until next time!

Stopped by for the first time and was really impressed! The owner is super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We tried the buffalo chicken pizza, garlic knots, and BBQ chicken pizza—all fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Perfect spot for a quick bite, and I love that they’re open late too. Definitely coming back!

I wish I could rate it less than one star. This place is the furthest from knowing how to make a good pizza or satisfy their customers. I spent almost $40 on two slices of pizza and a dried out piece of carrot cake. When I called immediately to let them know of my dissatisfaction I got the typical Millennial answer, “You need to call someone else to complain”. The pizza restaurant actually tried to put the blame on Slice, The app that they use to conduct their business. Somehow they think that Slice will take care of all of their operational shortcomings and issue refunds for them. I called Eat The Best Pizza twice to get this resolved. Nobody apologized for the quality of the food and were very quick to refer me to the Slice Customer service number. After tax, tip, service charge, and delivery fee, I paid $39.14 for this CRAP!!!! And when I called to complain they actually tried to blame me for it being burnt because I asked for extra toppings, Which required it to be re-cooked in the oven. UmWhat?

They obviously do not know what they’re doing and nor do they care. Tread cautiously with this place. There is much better available

I’ve been coming to Eat The Best for the past 4 years, and I can honestly say the name couldn’t be more fitting. The food is always so good.

What makes this place stand out even more is the people. The staff has always been nothing but amazing to me. Friendly, welcoming, and they go out of their way to make sure every visit is a great one. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the experience, but Eat The Best does it every time.

If you’re looking for a pizza place that you’ll keep coming back to year after year, this is it. Highly recommend!

Truth BeTold
Would love to leave a review about the food but this place is so shady, took my money and weren’t even open. multiple friends of mine have actually tried the pizza and is is absolutely no the best nor is the service good. This restaurant is most likely a shell company for something shady.

I go here once every week or two; the pizza is always excellent and the pepperoni rolls are amazing. Ordered several pizzas to go for an event. Friendly and prompt service, everything piping hot and perfectly cooked onetime. Great family owned business; super affordable; delicious

Edit: In response to the reply from the owner. I was not offered it to be remade at all. They said they could offer a credit, however, as I explained I’m not from the area and did not plan to come back at all. Credit and remaking an order r two different things. The food made me sick after barely eating any…as pictured below. I have felt sick for the past two hours and the only thing I’ve had is this food. The guy on the phone was rude and had an attitude. When I contacted eats streets they said the establishment had to process the refund. When they had tried to call they said the store was unreachable and closed. I do not recommend here at all especially after reading other reviews and responses from the owner. No experience eating food should leave u feeling Ill and like their is a rock settled in ur stomach from how heavy it is.

Not scilian style for one also completely and the slices were undercooked and the garlic knots burnt. The order was cold, I don’t even think it was warmed up with how cold it was. When I called to get a refund the guy was completely rude and refused! 0/10 would recommend as it is not worth it all. Wasted my time and money that looks as if I won’t get back and felt sick after barely eating any of it.
