Delicious empanadas! I had the shredded beef, my husband the chicken, and they were both good. They were so good, I got so busy eating I forgot to get a photo until mine was almost gone! We ate in, the atmosphere was pretty nondescript. We had to wait a long time for our food even though the D. Room wasn’t very busy. Our food was super fresh and hot which is, I believe, why it took so long to get. I think it would go a long ways with customers if it was explained that items are cooked to order, or that it’s x-amount of time for the next batch to come out of the fryers. I will definitely be back!

The quality of protein in the empanadas seem subpar. It almost feels like they microwave old ones that have been sitting out. They seem frozen, not freshly made or something. I ended up throwing out the food and eating elsewhere.

As long as you don’t get the Molida empanada you’ll probably have good experience. The beef was hard and slightly warm. The chicken and shrimp was freshly cooked. So they actually kept this review from being a 1 star. In conclusion, As a primarily Empanada based Restaurant. Put you focus on that which is your namesake. It was a greatly anticipated visit that just fell short. 1st and last vist.
Oh, and not to mention a dry cheese burger without a veggie of condiment in sight. Not even a bottle of ketchup for the fries.

I love, LOVE their empanadas! I always order the carne asada and it is delicious with their house sauce. If you want something light and simple, their cheese sticks are perfect! This is my to-go empanada craving.

My wife and I were passing by and decided to give it a try. We got a few different empanadas and shared them. Absolutely delicious. We had pollo, carne asada, and al pastor. All excellent. The dough was crispy and delicious. Price and quality was right in line. The service was nice and kind. Definitely worth a visit (or two, or three!)

I come here and mainly eat their chicken empanadas, my next choice would be beef. feels like it has been adjusted so the empanada is less creasy but the flavor is still great!! Very nice service, it’s perfect to grab lunch here.

I have never had such a disappointing empanada. $20 for 4 that were greasy, tough, and legit had what looked like a basic entire block of cheese melted in it. They were out of chicken at 11am and had very limited options. The reviews left us with high hopes, but I genuinely would never come back here, I feel unwell. I do not recommend, especially with such a goated empanada place just down the street, at the Cuban Cafe.

Wow… Just wow!! Karla and her husband Alex just opened up THE empanada place in Oakwood… And I’m all for it! Their tequeños and pastelitos have the perfect cook time and fry which helps that texture and flavor pop on every bite. There is a reason why the name of this place is EAT MORE EMPANADAS!! Once you take a bite of their empanadas, you’ll understand why. From the size (perfect… Not BIG but not tiny either), the crunch, the flavor… I highly suggest you try their CARNE MECHADA empanadas (shredded beef).
If you happen to bring a couple of friends to eat there, they have plenty of tables to sit and relax over some Venezuelan street food, or just call ahead and get your goods to go. They’ll pack it up to go and it’ll still be delicious by the time you get home (ask me how I know….).
Their empanadas are at $3.50 and packed with protein and flavor. Their pastelitos are $2.50 and their tequeños are $2. I’ll be back to try all of the other items I know they’ll be offering because I have no doubt they’ll be packed with flavor as well.
Can you tell I’m excited!? Go visit them and say hello!! Go see what I’m talking about
Edit: They now have different plate options to choose from and they’re all delicious!!! I had the fried pork and my nephew had their fried fish…. so tasty!! The rice and black beans are amazing. The ensalada maracucha is so good!!! Very happy with these options they have and it helps because sometimes you want more than the typical arepa or empanada.
