Quality is not the same as it used to be. This was the first place I ever had veggie pho and loved it ever since but that was 2 years ago… The beef pho also seemed off. Unfortunate it’s gone down hill. Love the quiet atmosphere but this place is looking more and more run down.

Food was amazing. Husband had the Pho with chicken, I had a spicy soup.
Service was good! Waiter was very kind and attentive.
The interior of the restaurant was very outdated, old & run down, ceiling tiles were very dirty. Definitely lots of improvements to make it a comfortable place that would be enjoyable to enjoy your food at.

I went to this restaurant for the second time and it was just as good as the first visit. I truly think this place is underrated because the quality of the food shows they deserve more customers. It was quiet when we went and we were the only ones there. The food is well seasoned and very filling.

Me and my buds when to get some pho and it was fire. The waiter who sat us down gave us water and everything and was super nice. Didn’t catch his name but he is Indian I think the food was fire. The music was also good since it was more for my age group we couldn’t finish the food since it was a large portion so will be enjoying this when I’m home.10/10

Great tasty pho. Ingredients were fresh and big portions. Egg rolls were good with the sweet and sour sauce. Friendly service and very quiet atmosphere.

I come here very often for the last four years. In fact, I was here earlier this week. I always talk about how lovely the food is and how kind the owner usually (I think?) is. Today, I was so excited to take my guest as I’ve mentioned it many times to them in the past. We get here during the Fall Event and the lunch special is not offered. Despite being offered everyday from 11am-3pm we were told the owner was not offering it today, and it was 2:11pm. I ask for the menu and they refuse to offer it, likely to increase customers spending. It is unfortunate to see them prioritize a few more dollars over loyal customers like myself who spread the word. No longer a favorite spot.

My husband and I went last Sunday to try the ‘East Wind Vietnamese Restaurant.’
Since we moved to VA, occasionally we drive by the same street as this restaurant when going to downtown Fairfax.
First the restaurant looks cute from the outside. But when you start to look closely around inside the place isn’t pleasant.

The cashier register area is disorganized, with glass water jars open, on top of the a desk, combined with folding wooden trays that is used to bring the food.

A rolled up rug standing in the corner of the entrance area.

Our waiter was overwhelmed answering the phone, placing custom orders, managing to-go orders and taking care of seated customers.

Husband ordered Pho with Round Steak – I ordered Spicy Hue Soup (number 28) described as spicy beef broth with slices of beef shank, tendon and thick rice noodles.

We also ordered Thai Iced tea. Meanwhile I started taking photos inside the restaurant.

Our food arrived and husband started eating his Pho. He was happy.
Mine had a terrible smell of bad fish, so I called the waiter who explained that that’s normal.

Then the chef came asking what was wrong? I asked why the soup smells so bad and what else is in there and why is it super salty?

He said they added shrimp paste to the soup. I never heard of such a thing: beef broth and shrimp paste, really?!
Another thing I didn’t appreciate was the cook rolling his eyes when I could not find these extra ingredients in the menu! In my case it turned into stinky soup, in someone else’s case it can turn into a serious allergic reaction.

I don’t care about his secret ingredients or recipe, but when I eat out I expect full disclosure about what I am ingesting and paying for.

In the end, I didn’t eat that soup but ordered some garden rolls and called a night. This was not the pleasant and enjoyable dinner we were planning on having.

In my opinion it’s NOT a true Vietnamese restaurant, they don’t know what they are doing.

Never going back again.

By the way on the website photos look nice but in real life the dishes are definitely NOT like that!

The menu photos are poorly done with faded images, not appealing at all.

Conclusion my husband said his Pho was okay but could have been better esp since he had experience eating around the world.

The waiter did his best and we were not charged for the garden rolls. That’s about the only good I can say about our experience eating there.

PS: My husband went to the men’s bathroom and it’s not clean.

Probably my favorite pho place in Fairfax. Good serving sizes and prices, especially for a restaurant in downtown Fairfax. The pho comes with your regular meat options and is pretty flavorful on its own or with the assorted additions/condiments.

Service is good and the place is always clean, though it’s pretty sparse inside.

It was a cold night and I wanted something hot and decided to try this place based on the reviews. It’s a hole in the wall type of place in every aspect. Had a few appetizers which were all good and I really enjoyed my pho, especially the broth. It had substance and the flavors of real meat instead of only bouillon and MSG. We also had a fruit fly hovering about trying to get some of the food and I believe it gave five thumbs up out of six.

Met up with a friend at this restaurant. The service was quick and friendly. The food was good- not the best Vietnamese I’ve tasted but it satisfied my craving. We had the lunch special and it is a very good deal!

There’s limited parking on the street but there are a few free parking lots before or after the street to us restaurant is at.
