Moved to Terre Haute from NYC and Eastern House satisfied our craving for Szechuan food! This is an expansive menu with lots of interesting and authentic options. Good prices and friendly service – don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations. We’ll be back!

This was my first time ordering carry out from this restaurant. My order was ready in no time. The service was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere is very nice as well. I had the Orange chicken, egg drop soup and vegetable
lo mein. The serving size was ample enough for 3 ppl. The price was reasonable for all the food I got. My only complaint would be that the Orange chicken was not spicy at all. It was still very good though. I would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant.

Unbelievably delicious food, very clean upscale restaurant but casual. Food made to order, large portions enough for 2 really. Also the new bubble tea is awesome, especially the Brown Sugar Latte Bubble Tea, basically desert. Affordable as well. Chicken and Broccoli is like $12. with soup and rice. Nice place for lunch or bring the family for dinner. Enjoy

I absolutely love this little gem. Family owned and they take great pride in their food. I’ve been coming here for quite some time and the food is top notch along with great customer dining experience. Many menu items to choose from and the bubble tea is very tasty. Nice ambiance and very affordable prices that makes this a big bang for your buck

Location was not very busy. Took 45 min to get my soup. Food was good. Server did not check on me. My hot tea was cold by the time my food was delivered. Crab Rangoon very good! If I have 1.5 hours to spare for myself I would go back because the food was really good.

We had general tso’s, sweet and sour chicken, and garlic shrimp, vegetables with noodles. I’ll come back to this when I have more time. This was off the lunch menu. I would like to try the dinner menu. I’ll definitely be back. The food was very good, especially for the lunch menu price. Service was good, nothing special, just good. They take care of you and give you privacy. During lunch the atmosphere was quiet, but nice.

Came in on Valentine’s day, crazy busy, constant to go orders and one massive order so big it took 3 people, 2 cars to pick it all up. Yet our food came out fresh, hot and perfect like it does every time. This is a favorite place to eat for my whole family.

The food is delicious, served in a timely manner and always fresh. We would come in more often if the annoying and rude college aged waitress didn’t stand at our table and be rude to us trying to make jokes by calling us names that SHE thinks is funny, but we do not. We just want to come in eat our food and enjoy each other, she does not understand personal or professional boundaries.

Delicious food, fast service and friendly staff! I was in area for my first time, so I had no idea where to go have a warm, nutritious and delicious meal. Eastern House did a terrific job at satisfying all my cravings and making me feel like home even though I was thousands of miles away from home The staff was very welcoming, friendly and patient. They took the time to explain some items on the menu in detail, which made my decision easier. They have many different delicious dishes, desserts and drinks on their menu.
I ordered a Shrimp Dry Pot and Mango Chicken (and made it spicy ). To begin, they brought me a mini wonton soup, which was very tasty. It was so good, I had seconds. The meat had the perfect amount of spices and all the flavors literally melted in your mouth. The pot in which my dry pot came in was the cutest and coolest thing I’ve eaten from. It was still on and boiling a little when it came to the table and eventually turned off. The shrimp dry pot was very flavorful and tasty. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the vegetables still held their natural crunch and flavors. The mango chicken was also delicious. It was sweet and salty with a spicy kick. The chicken still held its moisture and absorbed the flavors from the mango and spices. The vegetables were also crunchy and delicious like on the other dish.
For dessert, I had a Mango Sticky Rice. Overall it was sweet and had most of the great textures you look for in a mango sticky rice. In my opinion, the mango was not sweet at all. It was more on the bland side. I usually look forward to a sweet and juicy mango on this dessert, but this mango was not that. I also didn’t taste the deliciousness of coconut in this mango sticky rice. It was okay overall.
To drink I had an Thai iced tea. Not only did it taste great, but it was also refreshing.
I really enjoyed the food and the experience of Eastern House. I will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area again. Thank you for all the delicious food and great service.

A great hidden gem for authentic Chinese food. (They also have the standard Chinese American fare). The exterior of the building is a bit rough but definitely don’t let that discourage you! It’s much nicer inside. Also, this place is local, family run.
Appetizer was green onion pancake and they are so crisp, flaky and savory. It may remind you of Indian naan. Our entrees came with soup and rice with the options of hot and sour, wonton or egg drop soup and fried rice or white rice.
We ordered the braised eggplant and the spicy pork belly. The eggplant was tender and in a sweet glaze. It went so well with white rice and was not oily. The pork belly had a good kick to it with red peppers and jalapenos. The meat was cut thinly like bacon, which was good so it wasn’t too greasy or heavy in the way that pork belly can get.
The interior has table and booth seating options. The larger tables have lazy susans.
