East West Café: A Flavorful Fusion of Culinary Delights in Burlington
Reviews
Maybe I ordered the weakest dish on the menu—I had the Chicken Pad Thai, which is usually my default order when trying a new Thai restaurant. The pad thai portion was generous, but very underwhelming quality-wise. The noodles were overcooked and the flavor was absolutely bland, with no real flavor. For context, I’ve had many great pad thai noodles in New York City, so maybe I had too high expectations at a local Thai restaurant in Burlington, VT. Regardless, I couldn’t finish it, and that’s very rare for me.
By the way, the Chicken option for the Pad Thai is an extra $2…so the total is about $18 for a very underwhelming chicken pad thai. I couldn’t help but feel robbed…
I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea, which was okay, but slightly too sweet.
At the very least, this restaurant has nice and friendly service. I don’t understand all the positive reviews on here, but perhaps I should have tried a different dish from the menu. I do not recommend the pad thai from East West Café.
On a rainy day like today, it’s totally comforting to have a warm soup with seafood and rice noodles!
There’s a friendly staff to help me with the newly input QR code ordering. It’s easy breezy!
– Delicious food! The Pineapple Eggplant With Cashew was savory and sweet, with different textures and each vegetable cooked just right. And it was nice to be able to try a vegan version of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which is somewhat hard to find.
– Warm ambiance and service. The interior is spacious, cozy, and relaxing with twinkling lights and instrumental music playing. But the best part is the very personable, mellow, and friendly service by Spencer, who is also the co-founder of the place.
Cons:
– from my single visit here, can’t think of any.
By the way, the staff were so gentle and friendly, and the place is really cozy to dine in.
This is my new fave spot for soup! 🙂
