The website is nicely done, but it does not mention that reservations are accepted by phone. We arrived at 12 PM and the place was completely packed. After waiting about 40 minutes (we preferred a table instead of bar seating), we were seated at a small table and given extra chairs. There was also a birthday party which may have contributed to the wait.
Once seated, the food came quickly. The menu is versatile, the food prices are affordable, and the portions are generous and shareable. Everything was absolutely delicious — especially the freshly cut potatoes. I would say some cocktails were slightly overpriced, though appreciated.
As a kind gesture for the wait, they did not charge us for our drinks: two beautiful flower-topped lattes, which we truly appreciated.
Overall, a good experience. I recommend calling ahead for a reservation, especially on weekends. Four out of five stars. We will probably be back, hoping that next time the experience will be even better.
The coffee was excellent, and the service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You can really tell they take pride in both their food and customer experience.
Highly recommend East Rock Coffee if you’re looking for great brunch, amazing coffee, and a cozy vibe. Can’t wait to come back! ☕✨
When we first walked in, we noticed it was pretty busy and overheard that there was a wait. Once we got to the hostess stand, we weren’t properly greeted and actually had to get the hostess’s attention just to put our name on the wait list. That first interaction wasn’t the best, but we decided to stay and give it a chance.
After being seated, our waiter was friendly when he first greeted us. However, throughout our meal he didn’t check in on us at all. We had to get up ourselves to ask for hot sauce just to get his attention, and we ended up flagging down another waiter to ask for water and another drink.
As for the food, it was okay. We ordered the chicken Caesar sandwich and the chicken and waffles. The chicken in both dishes was pretty bland and lacked flavor. The fries were good, but if you’re someone who prefers very crunchy fries, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them.
The mimosa flight was a cool concept with several flavors to choose from, which I liked. However, they weren’t very strong and didn’t really give much of a buzz. We also ordered a lemon drop martini that was extremely sour and didn’t taste like a traditional lemon drop. I will say though, I loved the heart-shaped glass it came in — that was a cute touch.
Overall, the atmosphere was lively, but the service and food flavor could definitely use some improvement.
I came again the next day and got London fog and spinach and feta croissant it was the perfect breakfast!
We tried the rose latte and cappuccino—both beautifully presented and delicious. The breakfast plates were generous, with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy potatoes, and flavorful sausage. The star for me was the super star bacon—sweet, smoky, and so addictive!
Service was friendly and attentive despite how busy it was, and everything came out fresh and hot. This place is great for coffee lovers, brunch with friends, or even just enjoying the aesthetic vibe. Highly recommend!
Went for a Sunday brunch, was surprised to see a lot of people. Wait time as around 15-20 minutes for 5 people.
Food was amazing. Servers really kind.
Had a chai latte – it was great as well
Let’s talk about the coffee first because WOW. Every cup is rich, smooth, and bursting with flavor. You can tell they care deeply about quality here. Whether it’s a perfectly crafted latte, a bold espresso, or one of their fun specialty drinks, everything tastes fresh and carefully made. This isn’t just coffee it’s coffee that makes you want to come back every single day.
And the food? Just as amazing! The menu is packed with delicious options that go way beyond your typical coffee shop fare. Every bite feels fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and perfectly paired with their drinks. It’s the kind of place where you can come for breakfast, brunch, or lunch and leave feeling completely satisfied.
What really makes East Rock special is the whole experience. The atmosphere is modern but relaxed, the staff is incredibly friendly, and you can feel that community vibe where everyone is welcome. It’s fun, it’s lively, and it’s the perfect spot to meet a friend, bring your laptop, or just treat yourself.
Garden City is lucky to have this gem, and I’m so glad I found it. Between the top-notch coffee, amazing food, and inviting atmosphere, East Rock Coffee is easily a 5 star spot that I’ll be returning to again and again! ☕✨
