There is a sign near the entrance that says, wait here to be seated so, we waited. After being ignored for a while, someone finally asked if they could help us. Yes, we want to have lunch. Oh, just sit anywhere. Then why the sign?
My coworker ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and I got a spicy burger (I don’t remember the name but it had pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and hot sauce). Both came with fries. When my coworker commented that the fries were good, I was confused. Mine were obviously old and reheated. They had that mealy texture that potatoes get when you reheat them. After eating a few, I got to a fresh one and she was right. They were good fries. Apparently, I got the last of an old batch mixed with the first of a new batch.
She said her sandwich was good. My burger had decent flavor but was so overcooked that the patty was hard and dry. Even with hot sauce dripping off it, I had to add catsup (it’s all they had) for more moisture or I’m not sure I could have finished it.
We kept waiting for the check and finally asked for it. Apparently, their Internet service has gone out and they couldn’t process any credit card payments or even tell us how much we owed. They actually offered to make the meal free but I added up our meals from the menu prices, added enough for tax and tip, and paid them cash.
Overall, not a place I would choose to eat but, if that’s where the office wants to order lunch from, I’ll be happy to try something else. I wouldn’t recommend eating in, though.
Next time we go we will definitely be ordering the egg rolls. They were unfortunately sold out by the time we ordered yesterday.
The pub itself was a nice, cozy place. Not a ton of seating but seemed perfect for a good neighborhood Pub like this. The bar was nicely back lit and was a nice aesthetic.
Update: Another great dinner at the EEP. This time around we finally got to try the Buffalo Eggrolls, BBQ wings, Sweet Chili wings, and the crispy chicken wrap. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. Service was on point as usual. Highly recommend getting the Buffalo Eggrolls. You can get a half order and it still makes enough for a appetizer for 2.
We ordered carryout on 04/22/23 and our order was ready super quick, only taking about 15 minutes.
We got the mini corn dogs and loaded tots as 2 appetizers. For our main dishes, we ordered the Philly steak sandwich and the Queso Crunch burger.
-The mini corns dogs were as expected: standard, delicious, a fun snack.
-The loaded tots were crispy and had a nice flavor to them.
-The Philly sandwich was delicious. It featured a yummy chopped mix of moist steak, mushrooms, and peppers, all served on good bread. I would suggest adding some type of condiment to the sandwich, but that’s the only thing I’d change about it. Once I did that at home, it was perfect for me.
-The Queso Crunch was a really good burger. The meat was moist, flavor was nice, and the toppings were fun. We got a side of the garlic fries with the burger & OMG THEY ARE *AWESOME*. Such phenomenal garlic flavor.
All in all, I would absolutely recommend East End Pub to anyone looking for some good, chill food.
