It was our first time at this restaurant. We heard a lot of good things about this place. We were not disappointed. Crystal was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable about all the food. She made us some fabulous drinks and we had a lovely evening. Thanks Crystal. We will definitely return to try other menu items .

Highly recommended by colleagues, we stopped in for a weekend dinner with friends. We really enjoyed the burrata appetizer, great to share. I had the lamb steak which was lovely, however, the accompaniment was a bed of beans. I did not appreciate the beans, would have liked potatoes or something more basic. My partner had Scallops with pasta which was lovely, but the portion was quite small. Our friend also found her dinner entree to be small as well. We of course made up for this with dessert. Good atmosphere and service, exactly what one would expect for an establishment like this.

Small little place around from our hotel that delivered high quality service and food. We went out with clients and walked in and were seated by the window. Server was fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. I started with their seasonal manhattan cocktail and was blown away in terms of how tasty it was. We ordered oysters and clams for appetizers, and the claims that were topped with a pesto, cheese and breadcrumbs were amazing. I had the buttermilk pork chop and I have to say- that was the best pork chop I have had in my life. Perfectly cooked, flavourful with a nicely balanced sauce. I finished with their sticky toffee pudding that was presented well but was just okay. In all – everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a delicious evening. I can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely fantastic experience in every way. The ambience was just right from the moment I walked in – warm and inviting without being pretentious in any way. Everyone was very kind and hospitable throughout the meal. I ordered a half dozen New Brunswick “Acadia Pearl” oysters to start and along with the mignonette, they were some of the best bursts of briny goodness I’ve had in a while. Main course was the beautifully plated salmon – it was cooked perfectly and even the accompanying veggies were great (especially with the buttery sauce). My server was super professional, delightful, and like so many other locals, made a very nice impression on me. For a perfect night in Saint John, I recommend dinner at ECB followed by a stroll along the waterfront a block away. I will be back as soon as I can!

We had the best dinner here! I had Oysters and the duck and my husband had the carrot soup and rack of lamb special. Both were wonderful. Oysters were so fresh, cold and delicious! Served on a bed of cold rocks, beautiful touch. We had the trio of sorbet for desert. Absolutely wonderful meal!
We look forward to returning for another meal.

Fantastic food and service! A real gem in uptown SJ and a must visit for anyone who enjoys amazing food and a professional restaurant experience. Two small nitpicks – a limited red wine list with mediocre choices and a backroom (overflow) that lacks charm and fails to provide the beautiful ambience of the front seating area. That said, I would not hesitate to visit again!

We had dinner last night here and the food was truly amazing! We came in at happy hour which is a great deal for wine for sure at 25% off 5 oz pours. We had the scallop and polenta dish and the beef cheeks with risotto mac and cheese. Both of our dishes were outstanding! Then we had the lemon tart with berries and sorbet…excellent! Our server, whose name I did not get, was so kind, personable and funny to boot (she is a cute redhead), she made us feel so at home.

So very unassuming yet definitely a place worthy if you’re looking for an elevated dining experience. Absolutely loved the seared scallop entree, has become my favorite preparation ever, served on a sizable portion of pasta in a simple yet balanced and tasty preserved lemon, caper sauce. Also enjoyed the vegetable soup with mushrooms and barley which was that day’s soup. Husband ate the pan seared tuna special and it was also delicious as was the mushroom toast. Mouth is watering remembering this meal from just a few days ago. This is a must-try place if visiting St. John.

Great service! We really enjoyed the wine, specifically the Chateau Timberlay Bordeaux Superieur. The seared scallops, fish and brisket were good. The lobster bisque was a bit meh, and the fries were very over-fried and hard.

This was my first visit, definitely not my last. The vibe inside was seemingly business casual is the way I’ll describe it. Not super formal, but the candles on the table were well above casual. The menu presentation seemed a contradiction, fine dining prices, displayed on paper printed in brochure format. The table setting was beautiful, with excellent flatware tucked into a linen napkin, and quality glassware. Incredible food. Fantastic service. Best meal and service in years. Truly one of New Brunswick’s best restaurants.
I’ll return to take photos, but the presentation was top notch.
