The food wasn’t awful, but it definitely didn’t blow my socks off either. It’s the kind of meal you forget about halfway through eating it. If I’m nearby and hungry, sure—I’d go back. But I won’t be daydreaming about it or planning a road trip just to eat there. Prices were decent, our waitress was great, but the hostess looked like someone just told her her weekend got canceled.

Here’s what $43.69 buys you: 2 very average Western Omelets breakfasts with white toast and hashbrowns ($12.35/ea), and 2 “thimble sized” coffees ($3.07/ea). Add tax and tip and somehow it came to $43.69. Unfortunately your money would be spent better elsewhere. Atmosphere appears to be locals in their late 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Ask for a copy of your receipt and check it twice.

Food is outstanding! Fried flounder is flaky but soft where you’d want it to be and crispy likewise. I think their cabbage is my favorite side. It’s well seasoned and tender My takeout order today was waiting for me when I got there. I discovered East 74 while working in Matthews. I might actually brave the terrible traffic back to Matthews just to eat here!!

The food was okay, the service was good it feels like a friendly place to eat from those in that ‘hood. The fish was real crunchy and the fries seasoned well, my food was pleasing to my stomach, I’m happy to tell.

Cheap food. Fast service. Ok taste. I tried the country fried steak, which was good. My dad ordered the egg platter with turkey sausage patties and said they were extremely rubbery. My eggs were a bit lukewarm. But overall decent place to come for a cheap meal

I’ve been coming here for years and never had a bad meal here.. Anna is my waitress for most of those years and love that she always on her game . I do wish they would serve chicken and dumplings more than on Tuesday. They are some of the best in charlotte .. Also, they do serve liver and onions every day, and it’s very good if you like liver. Freshly made soups every day and very good Greek Salads . They also hav very good vegan or vegetarian options. Just a great around restaurant and worth your time to try out .. they serve breakfast till 2pm everyday .
