Early Girl Eatery was actually the very first restaurant I ever ate at on my first visit to Asheville, and while I’ve found a lot of wonderful restaurants since then, it has remained one of my favorite spots for brunch. I usually go for the chicken and waffles, which never disappoint!

I can usually find a parking space in the lot next to the Mardis building, which makes getting there easy. I also enjoy sitting on the patio, even if the traffic can sometimes detract from the experience just a bit, it’s still a pleasant spot to enjoy a good meal and soak in the neighborhood vibe.

Everything always tastes fresh and made with care, and the staff has consistently been friendly and welcoming every time I’ve stopped by, which really adds to the warm local feel of the place. It’s one of those restaurants that reminds me why I chose to move to Asheville.

We had such a great experience at Early Girl Eatery! I ordered the spinach and potato cakes and literally finished my entire plate — every bite was delicious. My boyfriend got the waffles, which were perfectly done and just as amazing.

The highlight for both of us was definitely the mimosa flight. So many fun, unique flavors to choose from, and each one was better than the last. We loved everything about our visit — great food, great drinks, and such a cozy Asheville vibe. Highly recommend!

The Early Girl is an Asheville staple. Accommodating staff. Beautiful food presentation. And it tastes as good as it looks. The ingredients are always fresh. You can even pick up jars of locally-sources jams and jellies, which are just as yummy at home! But when you do visit, be sure to find these four words on the menu: “Bow to the King!” You’ll be an Early Girl fan for life!

The breakfast is very tasty. I had the yam scram and the sesame hot chicken sandwich. Our server Kate was extremely friendly and provided great service and kept the coffee cups filled.

Early Girl Eatery is the perfect brunch spot for our Asheville weekend getaway! Party of 2 ordered the yam scram and biscuits and gravy entrees. Food was delicious, coffee was strong, and our server, Constance, was very attentive and had the best recommendations! Tried the local jam on the table, and ended up buying a jar – it was sooo good!

It may have been an off day but our brunch experience was really a dog’s dinner- messy, chaotic, and poorly executed.

There were at least 6-7 people on wait staff who did not seemed concerned with or pressed to make any diner’s experience a pleasant one.

There was a continuous line of people at the front door with a majority of the tables unoccupied and sitting with dirty dishes and trash. Customers were dining between these dirty tables and wait staff passed by them several times before clearing anything.
The menus were gross and booths were filthy with what seemed to be long left over dirt and debris.

The food took a long time and did not look appealing and tasted very subpar. When I asked my patner how their meal was they said “It is food”.

All and all it was as a cleanliness and quality issue that won’t have us returning any time soon.

Cutest breakfast place in west Asheville! Food is delicious! This is my second time going back for the porky breakfast bowl. I love the indoor/outdoor seating options as well. Great vibes!

It’s alright. The service is great and everyone was super nice. But the food to me could use just a tad more flavor, but that’s me.

I visited Asheville and was excited to try a local spot, but my experience fell a bit short. The restaurant didn’t feel very clean, and while the presentation of the food was nice, the quality wasn’t what I expected. My biscuit was burned and quite hard, and for $16 I received three small chicken strips and two overcooked biscuits. I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but overall it didn’t feel like a good value.

Service was 10/10
Food was 1/10. Got chicken and waffles.

Food was room temp when it arrived at 10:30 am. Chicken was room temp and dry and waffle tasted just one dimensional, and room temp.

The picture you see is what I had left on my plate after I stopped eating cause it was terrible and I did not finish.

Food took 25-30 mins so I didn’t even bother to complain because I couldn’t wait that long again.

Will not be coming back.
