Great first experience at Early Bird! We had a late Friday lunch and had most of the place to ourselves. Our server was helpful and prompt and the food was even better. We had the Banana Bread French Toast and a Combo Meal that had Cinnamon Roll Pancakes–both were fabulous!! We will return to try some of the other options on the menu.

While the wait was long, we were able to sit at the bar as soon as we walked in and I’m glad we chose to stay and eat there. The “Cinny-bobs” (first picture) were AMAZING. I cannot recommend them enough as an appetizer! I had the Churro Waffles for my meal and my sweet tooth was definitely overly satisfied between the two of these, but I don’t think I’d order anything different if I went again. The waffles were fluffy and slightly crispy on the outside and were perfect. Overall delicious food!

Early Bird in West Des Moines is such a solid weekend breakfast spot. We had the Traveler’s Omelette and the Crab Rangoon Omelette, and both were full of flavor! The food and service are always consistently excellent. Highly recommend for a fun, reliable brunch stop!

The restaurant has a cozy feel and is very clean. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very good. We had the Crab Rangoon which was made with real cream cheese, yum! They were creamy and very flavorful. The best ones I have had and the sauce that comes with them complements them well. The broth for my noodles also had good flavor and all ingredients were cook just right. Seafood was not rubbery.

My sister and I came in today for the first time, and had the best experience ever! From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was phenomenal! I have never had this experience in my life! We were greeted with kindness and laughter! Our server knew the menu and told us about different drinks and food items. He checked up on us regularly. We had other staff stop by to talk with us, to see how we were doing. I even stopped the manager and spoke with him and told him about our great experience and that he should be proud! We are definitely going back! And we highly recommend!!!

Went to Early Bird West Des Moines for brunch. The place and atmosphere was just alright. Food was a little underwhelming considering the price and service was just okay. Not terrible, but not really a spot I’d go out of my way for.

Nothing like good buttermilk fluffy pancakes that fill your plate from Early Bird in West Des Moines on a cold blustery morning that satisfies your soul. The tangy goodness of their fresh orange juice served with a heaping hot scoop of homemade gravy over grandma’s fresh from the oven biscuits are super good. Jordan, the wait staffer was very helpful as it related to the menu. For the quality of ingredients and reasonable prices with a family oriented environment it is a great place for book clubs, senior meet ups and just a place to sit and have a fresh cup of brew or any comfort type breakfast.

Overall, we had a decent experience, but there were a couple of things that kept it from being a 5-star visit. The coffee was good, but I had a bit of trouble getting refills. I tried flagging down our waiter, another server, and some support staff, but it took a while to get someone’s attention. In a breakfast spot, I’d expect a bit more frequent check-ins on something like coffee. As for the hash browns, they were so overcooked that we didn’t even try them. They were very crisp and not appetizing at all. Aside from these issues, everything else was fine and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Best Breakfast in WDM! I have been a silent fan for years, sorry about that! Best french toast in town, jalapeno popper hash-holes are incredible, and if you’re looking for fluffy amazing belegian waffles you’ve come to the right place. They always have the best seasonal features and they always get us in and out and the music always creates a fun environment. Keep up the excellent work!
