Stopped by EARL to grab a couple of sandwiches on the way to the beach and WOW these were amazing!! We got the chicken chipotle cheesesteak and the classic cheesesteak. Do yourself a favor and try these! You wont regret it. Bread is nice and toasty and the chicken was hot and juicy. Made to order so be patient, totally worth it. One of the best subs we’ve had in a while.

Absolutely incredible every single time. I’ve ordered from E.A.R.L. multiple times and the food is consistently amazing. Flavorful, generous portions, and just perfect comfort food. Easily some of the best munchies food out there — never disappoints. Highly recommended.

I had high hopes for E.A.R.L. Kaimuki in Waikiki, especially given the positive reviews, but unfortunately, my visit didn’t meet those expectations. Despite the hype, both the food and the overall experience fell short.
The cheesesteak I ordered was greasy and lacked flavor, and the packaging seemed careless. The service was also disappointing; staff members frequently went in and out of the restaurant, which felt unprofessional. I even saw one of the cooks take a smoke break while waiting for food to cook, and I noticed that random people were entering the cooking area from outside, raising concerns about cleanliness.
The restaurant itself felt a bit unkempt and didn’t have the inviting atmosphere I had anticipated. While my experience may have been an outlier, it certainly didn’t live up to the high expectations set by the reviews. I hope others have a better experience, but for me, it was a miss.

E.A.R.L. offers delicious gourmet sandwiches with meat, vegetarian and vegan options with good amount of seating indoors and two outdoor tables.
My friend and I tried the Italian and the Braised Brisket with a side of garlic fries and a Lilikoi lemonade. I loved my brisket sandwich — flavourful and the meat was so soft!

First of all, I never leave food reviews but Earl’s is worth it!! I got 2 sandwiches that were DELECTABLE!! The Italian sub sandwich was a spiritual experience that filled a void that I didn’t know that I had! The firebird spicy chicken sandwich has so much flavor with the chicken full of flavor, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The location is not great as it is tucked away at the very end of the plaza, easy to miss, but now that I experienced Earl’s, I’ll definitely be back!!

Great sandwiches! Definitely different than those you’d expect to find at other sandwich shops. The brisket sandwich seems to be the most popular while we were there. I opted for the French dip. Will visit again.

Eating at earls is such a frustrating experience. On one hand they have made some of the best sandwiches I have had, but on a different day the exact same item will be a completely different and inferior version of what it was. Their biggest problem is consistency, it seems like its 5050 you are actually going to get the sandwich you came for, and have enjoyed in the past, or something disappointing. Thats pretty unacceptable when you charge 22 dollars for it. Their menu changes all the time, but they haven’t figured out how to consistently deliver on the main stays of it. I’m not sure if this is an attempt at “innovating” things, but the Italian from 3 years ago back in Kaimuki was leagues better than what they serve now, even on the “better days”. It’s a shame but I don’t recommend. I have attached a current picture, (first one, left) and an old picture, (second one, right). Earls is otherwise a good business and hopefully they continue to find success and find their way.

Small, nice, very friendly place. Ordered the special that day – Lobster Roll. Little pricey ($25), wish it came with chips but pretty good. Came with pasta salad, and artichoke salad, and butter. I still like Et Al’s a little better but have yet to taste Jolene’s and Feast’s. In all, I’d go back to try the rest of the menu simply because it sounds pretty good but mostly they seem like a good team. Being a foodie, I think that’s just as important in these difficult times. Way to go guys!

This is our favorite sandwich shop. My favorite is the brisket. The brisket is cooked perfectly and the bread is toasted just right, but what makes this sandwich most delicious is the dipping sauce…sooooooo good. They have a second shop located in Kaka’ako that just opened. It’s not quite fully staffed and the menu is limited so it is not as good as the Kaimuki location.

Great sandwich. Got the pastrami one. Forgot the name of it. Decent size. Expect a wait when you order.
Cheesy fries with jalapeño is a winner.
