Pleasantly surprised by this mall ramen spot. Definitely would come again on a cold day in the mall looking for a sit down restaurant. Ramen was good (boyfriend ordered the classic and I got the zebra as recommended by the waitress) though not our absolute favorite. We both added an egg. They said they were taking the calamari out which we originally wanted so we got their shrimp and liked it. It was just over $50 total so it’s on the more expensive end of mall food.

Flavorful broth, thick wavy ramen is the way the paper bowls of soup come out! Self serve tablet ordering and modern sit in area.

The green vegetables do come out a bit soggy, seems cooked through and through and bowls don’t come with many toppings by default, so recommend adding a seasoned egg at least.

Have been going to E.A.K. for the past year and the food and service has been top knotch. It’s been really nice to be able to get a delicious bowl of ramen at the mall. Kura offers a bowl at a similar price point but does not compare to the quality at E.A.K. I always park by Shake Shack so that I have the option of getting a bowl on my way out if I’m feeling it (and I’m usually feeling it). Not that it changed how it tastes, but now that they’ve changed the bowls, I really feel like I’m having the full on restaurant experience.

My recommendation: Zebra Shio (with spicy oil). 10/10

We needed a place to grab quick lunch on Saturday noon, so decided to try out this newly opened restaurant in GSP. The store is next to Macy’s watch section entrance. It is mainly self served. You have to put in your order at register and then pick it up when order number is called. They have a huge dining area, with regular/high chairs and tables.

We ordered the takoyaki, karaage, shrimp bao, curry over rice with chicken and EAK Shoyu ramen. Impressively, the whole order was ready in couple of minutes. I loved the taste of all the items., especially takoyaki and kareage chicken. Shrimp in the bao was good but needed some sauce. Ramen’s broth was tasty. Noodles were good. Overall I was really pleased with the food quality and the experience, being self-served, didn’t require paying additional 15%-20% as tip.

I’ve been going to EAK Ramen since they opened and have eaten inside many times, always with food served in the same to-go style packaging.

Today was my first time ordering through Grubhub for convenience since I’m alone with my toddler. The food came packaged exactly the same—but apparently now you can’t dine in if you order that way due to their new “full service” model (which was never clearly communicated).

The issue wasn’t even the rule—it was how it was handled. The waitress watched me get my child fully settled before telling us we had to leave, forcing me to carry everything and my toddler out to the mall seating, then come back for the food.

Her attitude was rude and confrontational, with zero empathy.

On top of that, prices have increased significantly, which makes this kind of service even harder to justify.

The food is good, but not good enough to be treated like this—especially in front of my 4-year-old. Do better.

EAK ramen is located on first level of Garden state plaza. It has open concept, spacious seating, clean and organized.

Self service to order and pick up the food. We had signature ramen, curry with rice (a little spicy), karage and shrimp bao.

The egg was add on to my ramen. It was good. Ramen broth was rich. Very flavorful. Ramen itself had good texture. Karage was very good. Crispy skin and tender inside.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. You need a key for the bathroom because non-customers could walk in. The only thing I would suggest is use actual bowls, plates and utensils. The plastics make food unappealing.

Great tasting ramen for a decent price. Served in a cup instead of a bowl. Felt like I wasn’t given enough meat or noodles because everything was smushed into a small cup. Felt more like cup noodles than ramen in a mall that’s a bit more upscale.

I would eat here again, but I would definitely select add more meat and noodles.

I have nothing to say about the service. I ordered through a touch screen tablet, and never once interacted with a person. And honestly, that’s not bad in my book! Sometimes not having to deal with people is great.

The atmosphere is very cute, aesthetic, and cozy!

The store serves Yokohama style ramen. I was surprised to see they had a large pot behind the counter boiling away fresh ingredients for their rich pork based soup. Their curry is also addicting and reminds me of the Kanazawa style, very rich and deep colored with a spicy kick. Ajitama/marinated egg is perfectly marinated all the way into the egg yolk. Price is reasonable for ramen in NJ.

The bowl of ramen I had at EAK Ramen in Garden State Plaza, Paramus, was an unforgettable experience, and this photo captures exactly why. This was their signature Shoyu Ramen, and every element of it was outstanding. The broth had a creamy, golden hue with visible richness—loaded with flavor, but not overly oily. It had a deep, savory base that hinted at soy and slow-simmered bones, resulting in a comforting, umami-packed taste.

Floating in the broth were two perfectly torched slices of chashu pork—tender with crispy edges that added a smoky depth to the bowl. The seasoned egg was cooked to perfection, with a delicate outer white and a rich, slightly runny yolk that blended beautifully with the broth. The fresh spinach provided a nice textural contrast and a slight bitterness that balanced the richness.

The diced onions added brightness, and the broth-to-fat ratio was spot-on—indulgent but not greasy. While the noodles were hidden beneath in this shot, they were firm and bouncy, holding the broth well with every bite. EAK clearly nails the details that elevate a simple ramen bowl into something crave-worthy. It’s the kind of meal you remember—and one I’ll absolutely return for. This is comfort food at its best.

The food, Chef, Waiters, and Service was all great, but you cant ignore the $5 price hike on all Soups.. the E.A.K was anywhere from $12 to $13 last week and now its $18 before tax.. you cant justify a 50% raise in your prices in over a week by serving in metal bowls now. Use to be super convenient and a great price. Thats what grabs people. Not you guys making a total switch around the Holidays to price gauge people. You’ll start to see really soon how quickly your everyday customers or weekly customers won’t be coming back. A $12 Lunch for a very tasty Ramen was unbeatable.. but for almost $20 you’ll be 2nd thinking now for sure.

After tip 2 bowls of Ramen with no Beverages came out to $51..

Last week I spent around $30 for two bowls of Ramen here. Yikesss…

Prices from last week are listed below.
