Thank you for being a place we’ll definitely recommend, and be back to visit!
The portions were generous. The service was spot on and attentive. The BBQ was sooo good. My wife had the ribs. Falling off the bone, flavorful, and tender. I had the pulled pork and the brisket. It just melted in my mouth.
Dyer’s serves their sauce on the side. It was just the right combo of sweet and bite. Not too thick. Excellent.
While the main course was awesome, the sides were excellent. The potato salad had great flavor and tang. The beans were not sweet but just the right flavor to complement the meats. The cole slaw was ok. The apricot sauce was tremendous. It tasted like it was homemade.
There were a couple of glitches. Red wine just should not be chilled. The onion rings were a touch cool.
But don’t let that dissuade you. This place is awesome!
I had the dinner salad first (because my wife made me promise). Then came the ribeye and baked Potato. WOW!! Does not do this steak justice.. I’ve had food steaks in my travels through Texas, but this one was head and shoulders above the rest. I even ate some of the fat and gristle, it was that good.
My waitress, Destiny said the yellow stuff was an Apricot preserve they make. I normally don’t care for Apricots, but this was delicious on the Texas roast that came with the meal.
If you come through Amarillo, do your taste buds a favor…go eat eat at Dyer’s. My only regret is that I ordered the 10 ounce instead of the 12.
Destiny even gave me a sweet tea to go.
Carrots on salads for down better when soaked in dressing (just my opinion).
Ordered the steak medium, and the cook did it perfectly.
Wolfed everything in about 10 minutes, but that’s how Marines eat. If the food is good, you might get bitten trying to take a plate away. Destiny avoided injury by not touching my plates before asking.
I live in OKC, therefore am limited to my visits here at Dyers, but was not disappointed tonight. It was everything I remembered and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We had 11 or 12 family with us and all were pleased with their selections and the portions were more than ample.
We gave it another shot & y’all aren’t even trying at this point. The sandwiches are just thrown in the boxes… the meat isn’t even on the bun! Nothing extra I asked for was included onmy salad (No Crackers). Hubs pound of beef was not a fulll pound, including the container.
The hostesses at the front looked like they thought I had asked them to murder someone when I requested part of it be bagged separately.
I would like for you to care…. just a little bit.
