I was on the hunt for a solo breakfast spot, and I stumbled upon Dutch’s while walking around the area after another spot was looking at 45 minutes for a table. I am happy I stopped here, because the food was really good! I found the hashbrowns to be out of this world and the blueberry pancakes to be wonderful. The only downside was the biscuit being fairly dry, but it was still tasty. Seating options are varied with booths, table and bar style seats at the window.

Great home made bread is the center of this establishment. That sets the tone for a great venue especially when you are ordering the Cuban, as I did. All other items ordered were also good. Nice spot to end our 2 day trip

Came across this joint on a walk, the food isn’t bad, but definitely not worth the price. Our meal (2 English muffin sandwiches and 2 large cold brewed) were $40. You walk in and wait in line to order, water is self serve, our order came wrong, and you have to put your own dishes away. The “not so traditional” sandwich is supposed to come with egg whites, but came with yolks. Understated retro diner vibe, but without diner prices or service.

Definitely wouldn’t come back but to each their own!

With so many great breakfast spots in town, Dutch’s left us a bit disappointed. The bagel sandwich was just okay, and the grilled cheese with bacon had far too much American cheese (not melted and not gooey) and only two slices of bacon, definitely not what we were hoping for. While the bread was good, it was soggy. The hash browns didn’t have much of a true potato flavor, tasting more like salt and filler than anything fresh.

We understand food is subjective, but given Dutch’s reputation as a local staple, we were expecting more, especially in a city with so many strong diner and bagel shop options.

On the upside, the pastries were fantastic! Not pictured is the donut we grabbed, which was easily the highlight of the visit. Just a heads-up: this is a walk-up counter service spot, and the coffee is not refillable, something to note if you’re a morning coffee person.

The matcha macadamia donut was sooo good, hashbrowns in the Portland breakfast too! It’s a bit pricey here, so highly recommend Portland breakfast for the best value. My friend thought her breakfast burrito was a bit bland.

Great breakfast spot. It’s unfussy with very friendly counter service. The sandwiches are filling and stick with you all day. The blueberry muffins are “that good” and worth trying. I can’t upload a photo because they never last long enough for me to get a pic.

We LOVE Dutch’s. We eat here every Saturday morning and have not had 1 bad experience. Their bread is made in house and during the summer they bring in fresh produce from around the local area. Their blueberry jam is amazing I get it every time to put on my bagel. Their pastries are also made in house. The blueberry muffin is a staple and they feature 2 donuts every weekend that rotate flavors. I have not had the same donut twice since July. It does get pretty hot in the summer time in there but a lot of places around Portland don’t have A/C. We will be moving soon and we’ll definitely miss this place! Definitely try this place. Also, if you come at 10 or after be prepared for a line out the door. It can sometimes take up to a half hour to get to the front counter where you place your order. Enjoy!

Recommend: Crispy hash browns, grilled banana bread with butterscotch sauce!, and any of the pastries but especially the blueberry muffin.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at this wonderful restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Biscuit, and it was absolutely amazing. The biscuit was perfectly flaky, and the chicken had just the right amount of spice, making it a delightful combination.

My husband opted for Dutch’s Cinnamon Roll, which I couldn’t resist trying. It was fresh out of the oven, with a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture and just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness. It truly had that homemade, freshly baked flavor that’s hard to come by.

Our kids ordered pancakes with eggs, and they devoured their meals in no time, which speaks volumes about how much they enjoyed it. The pancakes were fluffy, and the eggs were cooked to perfection—a definite win for the whole family.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the place. Their attentiveness and warm service made our visit even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious breakfast with a cozy, inviting vibe, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. We’ll definitely be back!

Decadent and delicious homestyle eats. Everything is good but the biscuit breakfast sandwiches and crispy hash browns are the stars of the menu. Casual spot with plenty of room and friendly service. Definitely stop by if you get a chance!

Another great breakfast at Dutch’s! Be prepared to wait in line to order. It’ll give you plenty of time to read the menu on the wall and change your mind several times. 🙂 My favorite are the biscuits. They are split and grilled on one side. Perfect to add more butter or jelly. I ordered an extra biscuit this time to feed-the-need. The food flavors are great and you’ll leave satisfied.
