Such an awesome local spot if you need a cheap and tasty bite before heading to the border. I had the chicken fried steak and it was so tasty. The service was great it was incredibly busy for 11 on a Friday but the food was hot and fresh and good. Can’t find chicken fried steak anywhere else for $10.50

This may not be a “five star” restaurant but I loved everything about it! The place was packed with locals, mostly families and older people. The hash browns are light and crisp, not greasy. Rye toast was tasty. Over easy eggs done perfectly. And the chicken fried steak had plenty of gravy. Only one waitress but she managed to pull it off and everyone was happy

Also, this might be the last place on Earth where you can get a cup of coffee and they come by later and ask if you would like it “warmed up”. ie free refills!

If you’re looking for a small town diner, this is it! I tried the deluxe burger and also the hotdog with fries. Talk about fresh and cooked too perfection! The buns were even grilled to a perfect buttery crisp! Oh did I mention the dog came with relish on the side, most places make you ask for it. The wait staff was very friendly and prices were great!

Would be nice to get refills on drinks. They refill them like once and that’s about it. Also gets super stuffy atmosphere. Ac needs to be turned on occasionally at least. I go almost every week. Great place and prices. Just these things make the place a 4 out of 5 star

It’s a great hangout for area farmers and locals who don’t want high priced meals.

As a Whatcom County resident for over 40 years, I’m kicking myself for not discovering Dutch Treat sooner! This place is an absolute treasure, a true five-star experience that transports you back to a simpler, more charming time.
I had the chicken fried steak, and let me tell you, it was pretty darn good – flavorful and cooked to perfection. The hashbrowns? Absolute perfection, crispy and golden just how they should be. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her veggie omelette – a delicious and satisfying choice. My father-in-law, a true connoisseur, declared his French toast some of the best in the county – high praise indeed! And you absolutely have to try their fresh donuts, especially at just $.60 apiece – a truly unbeatable deal for such a tasty treat!
What truly sets Dutch Treat apart is its atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you just don’t see anymore. Filled with friendly locals, it felt less like a restaurant and more like a community hub. We saw regulars bringing their own dishes to the kitchen and people helping themselves to coffee – it truly felt like dining at my grandmother’s house, full of warmth and genuine hospitality.
The service, managed by a single, efficient server for most of our visit, was exactly as expected for this kind of establishment – attentive without being overbearing. And don’t even get me started on the toast; it was extra good! Top all of this off with stellar prices, and you have a winning combination.
I will absolutely, without a doubt, be back. Dutch Treat is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food, incredible value, and a truly unique, heartwarming dining experience in Whatcom County.

It was such a good experience! The staff was so friendly and helpful when I needed some entertainment for our toddlers she offered a few small toys and coloring books and saved the day.
The food was all excellent!! 100% would go back. I had the turkey club and really enjoyed it. My son devoured the biscuits and sausage gravy entree.
Only small issue was that it was hot in there. It was a super hot day, above 85° I think. We had to use a menu to fan ourselves. Wasn’t a deal breaker or anything though.

Good service, good serving for breakfast and the prices are about oh…10 to 20 percent less than most restaurants on the area for breakfast. The sausages were pretty dang large too!
