Also, this might be the last place on Earth where you can get a cup of coffee and they come by later and ask if you would like it “warmed up”. ie free refills!
I had the chicken fried steak, and let me tell you, it was pretty darn good – flavorful and cooked to perfection. The hashbrowns? Absolute perfection, crispy and golden just how they should be. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her veggie omelette – a delicious and satisfying choice. My father-in-law, a true connoisseur, declared his French toast some of the best in the county – high praise indeed! And you absolutely have to try their fresh donuts, especially at just $.60 apiece – a truly unbeatable deal for such a tasty treat!
What truly sets Dutch Treat apart is its atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you just don’t see anymore. Filled with friendly locals, it felt less like a restaurant and more like a community hub. We saw regulars bringing their own dishes to the kitchen and people helping themselves to coffee – it truly felt like dining at my grandmother’s house, full of warmth and genuine hospitality.
The service, managed by a single, efficient server for most of our visit, was exactly as expected for this kind of establishment – attentive without being overbearing. And don’t even get me started on the toast; it was extra good! Top all of this off with stellar prices, and you have a winning combination.
I will absolutely, without a doubt, be back. Dutch Treat is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food, incredible value, and a truly unique, heartwarming dining experience in Whatcom County.
The food was all excellent!! 100% would go back. I had the turkey club and really enjoyed it. My son devoured the biscuits and sausage gravy entree.
Only small issue was that it was hot in there. It was a super hot day, above 85° I think. We had to use a menu to fan ourselves. Wasn’t a deal breaker or anything though.
