Unbelievable cocktail selections, award winning and worthy of it. Most are gin based, but a good range besides. Masterful mixologists, including Drew Peri; you must try Sweet Heat. Food is killer to boot. Order early to take maximum advantage of 2h table time, and plan your ride. Beautiful old formerly Goucher building with outdoor patio out back in warmer months.

I’m really disappointed to have to leave this review, as our first time at Dutch Courage last year was fantastic, a five-star experience & one of my favorite meals of the year. We liked everything we ate & drank so much that we bought a bottle of Le Gin on the spot, to bring home. (Attached photos are from that first visit.)

Given our first time, we brought my brother back, who was visiting from out of town, & had a less-than-stellar experience. (I was almost embarrassed to have brought him, having told him how good it was, & then having terrible service.) They had just changed over the menu, & were unwilling to make any alterations or accommodations, as the chef was “figuring it out.” Despite wanting the same simple, & wonderful, steak & potatoes we had ordered on our first visit, they would not let us order that, which was fine, I suppose, if the delivery & attitude had been better. We still spent several hundred dollars, & had several tastings of Nolet’s Reserve. The food was…okay, compared to what had previously been wonderful. Our server also seemed to lose interest about halfway through serving us, & all but disappeared.

Tonight, on Valentine’s Day, after just coming from their sister restaurant Pink Flamingo, we wanted to step in for some quick tastings of Nolet’s. We were “greeted” (though I’m not sure there was anything welcoming about it) by a condescending host who barely made eye contact & told us the bar was full & only available for reservations (despite seeing open seats at the bar). I made it clear that we just wanted a quick drink & were told, with an alarming attitude, that that would not be possible & then just sort of stood there, glaring at us (???) as though we were an imposition.

I’m honestly quite disappointed that what began as a wonderful experience on our first visit, has progressively gotten worse, to the point that I don’t believe we’ll return. It’s a shame, because the drink menu is extensive, the gin selection is almost unparalleled, but the service (aside from the actual bartenders, who are good) leaves a LOT to be desired. A host who glares at guests when they come in is…insane.

I had a great experience here from start to finish. The drinks were excellent—well-balanced, thoughtfully made, and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. For the quality you get, the prices are more than fair, which made trying a few different cocktails even better.

The staff really stood out. Everyone I interacted with was helpful and clearly knew the menu and drink list inside and out. Bartender Rich deserves a special shout-out—his knowledge, attention to detail, and overall attentiveness elevated the entire experience. He’s the kind of bartender that makes you want to come back just for the service.

If you visit, you have to try the Ramos Gin Fizz. They absolutely nail it. The atmosphere is small, cozy, and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed night out or catching up with friends. Overall, this place hits the sweet spot of great drinks, great people, and a great vibe. I’ll definitely be back.

Cocktail bar specializing in gin. Extensive cocktail and spirits list. The bartenders definitely take pride in what they do, it was so fun watching them and the drinks were amazing. Seems like a popular place, would do a reservation for busy times. Well priced drinks ($12-15 for 1 cocktail). Simple atmosphere. Such a great experience.

We stopped here to spend some time before a late reservation elsewhere, and it ended up being such a great find. The cocktails were fun and delicious, and the small plate we ordered was phenomenal. Jemma and Drew were wonderful to interact with—helpful, pleasant, and friendly.

In fact, all the staff were great, and the vibe here is vibrant and chill. I will absolutely be making a reservation for this place to be the main event in the future. This spot is a gem—don’t miss out if you have the chance to visit!

Took my mom bear on a monthly mother daughter Date night. Gemma at the bar was amazing. She customize our drinks to our liking. We had the oysters, prosciutto cheese, the duck, and the brussels sprouts salad all of which were amazing. Our cocktails were divine. We shall be back For Gemma!

My boyfriend and I chose Dutch Courage for Valentine’s Day because it’s special to us, it’s where we had our first date in 2025. Unfortunately, this year’s experience was incredibly disappointing.

For Valentine’s Day, they offered a $75 per person prix fixe menu. When we arrived for our 7:30 PM reservation, prime dinner time, we were immediately told that one of the three second-course entrée options, The Fields, was already unavailable. That left only pasta or mushroom risotto, with no replacement or alternative offered. At that price point, it was surprising there was no effort to pivot or adjust the menu. Having worked in a restaurant for many years myself and knowing how kitchen prep/menu planning works I have numerous questions including: how are you this ill-prepared for Valentine’s Day when the prix fixe menu is so small (8 items total)? Embarrassing honestly.

When we ordered our first course, we both selected the steak tartare. A few minutes later, the server returned to inform us that I had just ordered the last one, meaning my boyfriend had to choose something else. At that point, the only remaining first-course options were soup and acorn squash.

Because of the limited availability, what we ultimately ended up with was essentially soup, mushroom risotto, and chocolate mousse for $75 per person. That’s a steep price to pay for what amounted to soup, rice, and dessert.

It honestly felt like they capitalized on the fact that it’s difficult to leave and find another reservation on Valentine’s Day, especially in the city. On top of that, the food itself was mediocre. The pasta was something I could have easily made at home, which made the $75 per person price even harder to justify.

They also enforce a two-hour table limit, which we understood. However, about an hour and a half into our reservation, our waiter came over and dropped off the check without asking if we wanted anything else. We hadn’t asked for it, didn’t indicate we were ready to leave, and still had 30 minutes remaining on our allotted time. All the while we were hearing the rude host turn people away at the door while there were numerous tables open around the entire restaurant and bar seating available. It was 9 PM, half of their menu was unavailable, and they had tables open. All of that to say, it felt rushed and dismissive, especially considering we potentially would have ordered more drinks.

To their credit, they did comp one of our fish appetizers and covered two drinks, a beer and a cocktail, which we appreciated. That gesture is the only reason this is a two-star review instead of one.

It’s unfortunate because this restaurant holds sentimental value for us, but after this experience, we won’t be returning.

One of the most reliable spots in Baltimore city, any time of the year. The interior is cozy nicely designed, the patio is such a nice place to grab a drink in the summer. I still haven’t had a bad drink here, and the servers are always helpful and willing to give you a rec. I’ve had several dishes here, the tinned fish is delicious paired with some of their small dishes and dips. The sandwiches, however, are the real stars of the show. I’m not sure what they put on that bread but it’s just amazing. Don’t hesitate to try this place out!

Phenomenal stop over the holidays! The drink and food menu is so well thought out and delicious, the vibe is immaculate, service was excellent. They decorated in a traditional and lovely way. I’d definitely recommend the holiday cocktails, served in adorable glasses with very cute accents.

Went for Valentine’s Day and was realllllly disappointed to find out there was a “fixed menu” we were forced in choosing between a few menu items. Risotto was overly rich and garlicky and shrimp pasta was so spicy…. Sooooo expensive over $200 for this “fixed menu” and then a couple drinks. I wish it wasn’t a fixed menu bc I would like to try some things on the menu :/
