Food is amazing, every time!
This Afghan restaurant is a true hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm hospitality makes you feel welcome. The food is rich, comforting, and full of authentic flavor.
The shami kebob was a standout—perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor, with a great balance of spices that wasn’t overpowering. The super dish option is an excellent choice if you want to try a little bit of everything.
The Veggie Sambosa was delicious, and the hot fresh bread will leave you speechless.
Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with portions that are more than filling. The spices were beautifully balanced, allowing each ingredient to shine. The staff are always friendly, and welcome you with a smile.
If you’re looking for authentic Afghan food with bold flavors and genuine hospitality, this place is absolutely worth a visit. We have known them for years, when the original restaurant was off Duke St.

This place is the worse place to eat food/ order food . I ordered lam kabob over the phone. When I got the counter , my order was already read and sealed with a plastic . I had someone sick in my house. The price is very expensive and not fair . When I got home and opened my food pack, they added more rice and small pieces of lam kabob ( 6 pieces that even one of them was even half of the piece) . You can see the picture .I am not recommend anyone to go Dunya kabob . I ordered kabob in DMV areas many times , but the service was very good ( price fair and foods were the best fresh). The Dunya lam kabob smelled bad , meat was not fresh and looks it was from a week/ three days ago. God knows . Please do not go dunya Kabob with your family , friends or alone . You will regret. This was my experience that happened to me and I shared that will not happen to you . I give Dunya kabob .mines zero stars(-0).

We ordered from Dunya Restaurant for a large-scale catering event at one of the most historic (and logistically complicated) venues in Washington, DC — the Andrew Mellon Auditorium. This was a black-tie gala fundraiser for over 450 guests.
From start to finish, they were extremely professional and easy to work with. Their pricing was very reasonable and fair, and they provided a full on-site staff to manage the lines, replenish food, and ensure everything ran smoothly.
The food was absolutely delicious — authentic Afghan cuisine with a great mix of vegetarian and meat options, along with desserts and more. The quality, presentation, and service were all top-notch.
I would highly recommend Dunya for any upscale or large-scale catering event.

I ordered three of the Deluxe Kabobs for delivery, and I was thoroughly impressed. The flavors were amazing, and each dish was packed with high-quality ingredients. The portions were also very generous. Highly recommend!

We came while there was a buffet set up in the waiting area and waited in line like everyone else. When it was our turn, the staff refused to let us get food. The guy was very disrespectful and rude—he didn’t explain anything and was just ignoring people. We were told we were “too late,” even though we had been waiting and there was no food left by then. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

Driving NC back to NY. Made a quick food stop but pulled into some Afghanistan gold!!! Great taste, exquisite preparation, cultural delicacies and the green/white sauces are top tier!
Rashid was a kind man, with table service, or To-Go available, he personally delivered my dishes. The environment is clean, with elements of origin. I was blown away and highly recommend!
Vegan friendly options.
There version of the empanada was crisp
The Afghan King Gyro was my entree and it delivered amazing energy for this last leg of drive.

Dunya kabob has some of the best kabobs I’ve had. The food is really good. Chapli kabob and deli kabob are wonderful. Their sweets are fresh and love their hot complimentary tea.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for kabobs.
