Wonderful experience! Great food, perfect ambiance, attentive service despite being packed for a saturday lunch in December. It’s surprisingly hard to find a really good high tea in eastern MA, but this place knocks it out of the park. They have several rooms, all very different but all charming (and well decorated for christmas). Good tea selection and well balanced menu- great for folks who don’t like a full high tea but are dining with those who do!

Excellent food and friendly waitstaff. We ordered the smoked salmon plate, crumpet melt and deviled eggs – all were extremely good. The tea room was, in a word, lovely. I rated it a 4 because I originally ordered a mushroom toastie but they were out if it. I also ordered a drink with blackberries and they were out of it, too. I would definitely return to Dunbar House Tea Room.

This was hands down just a perfect experience. We celebrated an early Mothers Day and this may have just been the start of a new tradition. The rooms were cozy and elegant at the same time. There was a wide variety of teas served it individual pots with a cute warming wrap. The sandwiches were tasty and the pastries delectable. There were different options for high teas with a vegetarian and gluten free option. Service was on point and our server Jeremy was friendly and attentive. The beef Wellington bites were fabulous. Highly highly recommend. Made a reservation already for another visit.

A huge amount of food for what you pay for! I’m not sure why other reviewers complain about portion sizes. This is definitely a novelty and a lot of fun. Usually I’m very critical about my tea but the chocolate caramel totally blew me away! It had such a robust flavor.

They also have loose leaf tea that you can buy to bring home. Absolutely zero disappointments and Jeremy is a great server!

Dunbar House Tea Room & Wine Bar is a lovely and unique destination that blends the charm of a traditional tea room with the sophistication of a wine bar beautifully. The atmosphere is refined and relaxing, the selection is well curated, and the overall experience feels genuinely special. A wonderful spot for an afternoon tea, a glass of wine, or anything in between. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something a little different and thoroughly enjoyable.

Unfortunately, this tea room was disappointing. The atmosphere felt loud and cramped, making it hard to enjoy what should have been a relaxing experience. The host appeared rushed, and we felt hurried throughout our visit rather than welcomed.

Given the price, the experience simply wasn’t worth the cost. I expected a more comfortable setting and attentive, unhurried service.

This was a delightful stop on a rainy day exploring Cape Cod. The atmosphere was perfect. The staff were attentive and friendly! Definitely recommend scones and hot tea. Although the pea soup was a gorgeous green it did taste rather bland. My sister loved the curry chicken salad & the Victorian London fog hot tea. Also they had a gluten free afternoon tea that made it very easy for my sister who is gluten free to enjoy. Would recommend for a girls outing. ❤️

We had tea at the Dunbar House Tea Room last week, and it was a mixed experience. The service was very good, as were the teas themselves, but I was surprised that our tea cozy was stained by previous encounters with tea. It made me wonder how frequently they were laundered. I was surprised as well to find kitchen strainers being used to strain our tea rather than tea strainers. We paid close to $100 for two people’s afternoon tea, and it seemed to almost laughable to be straining my tea with a kitchen implement when we were dining so formally. One tiered plate set was off kilter, while the other one was wobbly.
Afternoon tea is always a delight, but I probably would not bring a friend here to celebrate her birthday.

This used to be one of my favorite places to get afternoon tea. I must say as the restaurant has expanded the quality of the food isn’t the same. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is great but the food just isn’t as good as it used to be. Honestly not sure we’d go back. Maybe to try the wine bar but not the dining room. I’ve eaten there twice in the past year. Once for afternoon tea and once veering from my normal and ordering off the menu. Everything is just too mass-produced now. The tea sandwich that had the chicken salad in it had about a teaspoon of chicken salad in the croissant. Not sure if they were running low on stuff or if that’s the new Norm.

The Dunbar Tea Room is a favorite for spending an afternoon with my mom, and sometimes my daughters. The place is lovely. The food has always been delicious and the drinks delightful. I love the chai with rum. The roast fingerling potatoes are not to be missed! My friends and I attended a Halloween event last year and loved it! What I call the tower of treats with finger sandwiches, petit fours, mini scones, etc… a hot pot of herbal tea in a cozy, what fun! The servers are always charming and friendly as well.
