We stopped in to check out this newer restaurant and try some dumplings.
We ordered a few different things to try..
Started with a Cheese Mango Smoothie. This was really delicious! Not sure what “cheese” is used, since we’ve never had a cheese smoothie, but it tasted like a usual mango smoothie, really good.
The BBQ Pork Buns were nice. The bun itself seemed fresh, pretty thick and doughy. The BBQ pork didn’t leave any lasting impression.
Next, the Pork Xio Long Bao (pork soup dumplings) were nice as well. The broth inside was flavorful and these made a tasty bite.
Finally, we had the Chicken Stir Fried Udon. This was my favorite dish. Full of flavor, a decent amount of chicken and the thick Udon noodles were perfect.
The service was attentive and quick, even during the bust weekend lunch hour that we visited. We were greeted the moment we walked in the door, ordered by circling what we wanted on the menu and the food came out pretty quickly.
The vibe is pretty modern, an open kitchen to the dining area, modern ceiling accents and bright lighting.
Overall, a good experience here!

The Cavewoman had heard good things about this new modern-style Dim Sum house in nearby Moorpark. Since it doesn’t take much, if any, coaxing to get me to go for these delicious dumpling delights, we went last night.
We arrived right at the dinner hour and found ourselves a bit down the waitlist. Though, it went fairly quick and we were seated about 15 minutes later.
The menu offered most of the usual Dim Sum suspects, along with a variety of noodle and rice dishes. We opted for the Vegetable Spring Rolls, Steamed Pork Ribs, Sticky Rice, Shumai, Vegetable Buns, and Fried Sweet Potato Taro Balls. My wife added the Peach Green Tea while I chose the Tropical Fruit Tea.
Everything was amazing! Starting from the top, both the Spring Rolls and the Ribs may have been the best I’ve ever had. The Spring Rolls were crunchy and filled with a delicious vegetable filling that was crazy good, while the ribs were meaty, tender, and steamed in a world-class broth. The Sticky Rice was wrapped in a banana leaf, cooked perfectly, and had plenty of tasty pork filling. The Shumai may have been my favorite and is definitely the finest I’ve ever tried. I’m not usually a Chinese Bun fan. But, my veggie wife wanted to try them and I was pleasantly surprised. The Sweet Potato Balls were a great capper for the meal. While both teas were so refreshing and had the best Boba I have ever experienced.
The restaurant has the open feel of a traditional Dim Sum house, and though they don’t have the rolling carts full of steaming dishes, they do offer the same ambiance with all the controlled pandemonium and customer chatter filling the room.
I wouldn’t call this place cheap. But, it’ll rival anything you can find in Monterey Park or Chinatown, without the hassle of driving there.
Highly recommend!

This is my new go to for comfort food! Honestly, I think some of the reviews are a little rough. I had a good first impression of this place! I came in when it wasn’t too busy but still people dinning in. Was seated quickly and was served water immediately. The servers were super sweet and kind. I asked one of them their favorite dish and decided to order that as well as two other things and a drink. I ordered a lot for just myself but this is a place where you come with family and friends to SHARE food. Please don’t come here expecting all these big portions for one person, the dishes are made to share with others and portioned correctly. My food came out in less than 10 mins after ordering. The servers came once in a while to check on me which was perfect. This isnt LA (clearly since it’s in Moorpark) but a good alternative if you want something similar to places in LA but can’t make the drive down.

The food…i loved. The Spicy shrimp and pork wontons with udon noodles were to die for, mix before you eat for sure. It was sweet and spicy. The soup dumplings were comforting as well. The Jumbo Shrimp and Pork Shumai was recommended by the server and it was so so good and filling. Pair with chili oil…chefs kiss. Please be sure you try the sauce that goes with the soup dumplings, it compliments it very well. The Brown sugar milk tea was also a pleasant drink, the server asked how sweet i wanted it which was really nice.

One of the reviews says some of them don’t speak English like that’s an issue?! Wasn’t for me…we understood eachother just fine.

I can see how this place gets super busy and why people enjoy it so much, but I recommend you give it a try with friends and/or family! You can see the wonderful cooks as well making everything. So authentic, i loved.

After waiting such a long time, my partner and I finally got to visit dumpling shack and it did not disappoint at all!! We went around 3:30pm which was a perfect time since it wasn’t packed and we got greeted by a friendly employee as soon as we walked in! We got the menu, ordered, and received our food very fast! We ordered the pork xiao long bao, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, shrimp fried rice, and the shrimp & pork pan fried dumplings (not pictured). We enjoyed every single item we ordered, there was so much flavor and everything tasted amazing I would give it a solid rating of 9.5/10 and if I’m being honest I’d pick this place over din tai fung any day especially since it’s more of a close & convenient drive than going all the way out to LA for some delicious food!

I came here during the holiday week with my daughter and had such a lovely experience.

Parking was super easy as it sits in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking. We ordered steam jumbo shrimp, pork bao, pork pan friend dumplings and hot tea and loved it all.

I’m a bit skeptical about Chinese restaurants in Ventura county but this one is pretty decent. While it’s no Din Tai Fung, it’s pretty decent for the drive if you live around here. They serve some dim sum dishes and the steam pork ribs is as good as NYC dim sum. The dumplings are decent, they have a more thicker dumpling skin style. And their address is (888), IYKYK.

They give you a menu and you circle with what you want. Perhaps they could put more pictures to correlate to the food so people know what they are ordering. Will definitely return. I went on a holiday weekend and by lunchtime, there was a wait.

Our family of three has been eating here once a week (if not twice!) since they opened. The staff are incredibly welcoming and always attentive.
We usually order the same things: Beef Stir Fried Udon, Soup Dumplings, Steamed Jumbo Shrimp, and Pork Chop Fried Rice.
Sometimes, we will order one extra thing from the menu so we can try something new. This last time we tried the Black Golden Egg Custard Buns. The custard was warm and sweet, while the outer bun was soft and so enjoyable. I’m excited to add it to our “usual” order.
Let’s keep this amazing business in Moorpark!

We tried to go here on Wednesday 10/1 but the line was out the door. We decided to try it for lunch on 10/02 and it was busy but a short wait. The staff was extremely busy and you could see they were trying hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. We had the BBQ pork bun which was really good, soup dumplings were great and the chicken udon which was good too. We tried the taro dessert balls and they were yummy but we really wanted the sesame ones but they were out. Next time! We will definitely back and hopefully they’ll have things more in order so their staff isn’t jogging around. I felt bad for them but they took good care of us.

Ordered online for pick up. Said 30 min. Showed up at correct time and waited 30 more minutes. The “Chicken Fried Rice” was actually steamed white rice with barely any egg or green onion. Had a decent amount of chicken but was very rubbery. The “Beef Udon Noodles looked and smelled great but it was surprisingly bland. The noodles were cooked well and had good texture. Only reason for the 2 stars on the food.

Friendly staff. We loved the Shanghai noodles, soup dumplings, and fried wontons. I look forward to trying more of the steamed and spicy options next time and udon too. The brown sugar milk tea boba was very yummy. Our waters were always full as we’re our bellies by the time we left.
