I really wanted to like this place but they serve robot made, frozen XLB. I understand that making XLB is a time consuming process, however the difference between handmade and industrial is night and day. I can’t really grasp why one would open a restaurant with the focus on a specific dish and source their dumplings frozen from a supplier that distributes to supermarkets? I appreciate that they are trying to expand the food scene in Reno however, there isn’t any love or pride evident. I hope they start making their own products and contribute to the growing culinary scene in a meaningful way

Really amazing to find a place with non-pork dumplings, XLB at that! I’m sure this place is great for people not allergic to peanuts. Please maybe consider getting a tool and a steamer basket that can be peanut free for the dumplings. I’m sure the dumplings are delicious and I’d love to eat it some time. Thank you for your work!

The atmosphere is near the homeless camp. Idk what is trendy about poor people but midtown seems to like it. Super friendly staff but the dumplings were store bought. Meaning . I can reheat stuff too. Only good if you were drinking all day and do not know how to cook. Last these would be ok for lunch maybe but it’s closed until 5pm. Probably because at noon it’s full of homeless people all over st Vincent’s which is a homeless shelter. Location location location… Will be the killer of this place.

Would not recomend to anyone looking for homemade dumplings. The dumplings and sauces are pre-made by a mass production company so you are better off buying your own and steaming at home. It’s not like the dumplings were bad…its just I don’t need to pay extra for someone else to warm something up for me.

I’ve eaten at 100+ Michelin star restaurants + have had the “best” soup dumplings in the US – these are unbelievable – my only note/request is that they please please please expand their menu to more types/variety of dumplings (if they don’t I accept that as these are perfection) but… would love to see menu expansion at the same quality of what is here now. If not I’ll still be back and will Every. Single. Time. wish this was a full restaurant where I can order tons of sake and inhale this perfection in a setting that isn’t the back yard of a bar.

Would have loved to try this place out. Called to verify they were open until midnight. I arrived at 1130pm and they told me they were closed.. would have been nice to save the trip. Maybe ill get to try it next time.

Placed an online order that said it would be ready in 45, once we got there we had to wait an additional 20 min and it wasn’t even busy. They were good but not worth that whole wait. Also, they seem store bought and just steamed there.
