So I was by myself so I tried the onion pancakes and they were very thin and crisp. Excellent. I had both the vinegar sauce and the hot chili oil on them. Very tasty. The reason they came here was because they make their own dumplings right here. I chose the veggie dumplings pan fried. Next time I think I will try the soup dumplings. But my dumplings were great and the sauce that comes with it was perfect. The veggies were crisp inside and the the skins were done quite well.
As far as atmosphere, the restaurant is clean. Neat and efficient. You can order to go and wait for it or you can sit and eat. One nice thing that stuck out for me is that if you have a Togo order it’s put in a bag with handles. Thanks and the bag inside has a foil type lining to keep your dinner warm while you take it home. Very nice..
Each one was fabulous! Really great staff very attentive. I love that you can order at your table with your phone.
I’m in the neighborhood so I’ll be back often!!
We got there about 8 PM and managed to be seating quickly in the last available table. The servers were very friendly and for most of our meal checked on us frequently. Make sure you bring a smart phone: there is a QR code at the table that you use to order. They bring out a hard copy menu to help you make selections, but you order on your phone. Easy enough. There is a diverse selection of options.
The food started coming out fairly quickly. My wife wanted spring rolls and they came out in under 5 minutes. They were very fresh, very tasty, and hot (temp, not spicy).
We ordered pan fried beef dumplings, pork soup dumplings, bbq pork filled buns dim sum, chicken fried rice, and Szechuan chicken. Everything was freshly prepared – no reheated frozen food here. The food came out in waves piping hot as it was finished in the kitchen. Everything was flat out delicious except the Szechuan chicken (which was good, but not great in our opinion). I honestly think that was the best chicken fried rice I’ve ever had. The dumplings and dim sum were top notch and I honestly can’t imagine how they could better. At approximately $16/person this was a great meal.
I only gave 4 stars on the service because towards the end of our meal they didn’t refill our water for a while, which given the spicy Szechuan chicken was noticeable!
On the atmosphere side this is a basic restaurant in a strip mall – so you shouldn’t be expecting anything fancy. The food was great and that’s what matters. I would absolutely return if given the opportunity.
