Went to Third Place books and was excited when I saw that I could get dumplings in the food court. My pork and chive dumplings were perfect! My only complaint is the speed so probably don’t go if you have somewhere you need to be. I went and got an order of gyro fries after waiting a while for my order to snack on and almost finished them by the time my dumplings were ready.

Amazing how completely flavorless the food is here. The boba quality is terrible, the tea is fake, the wonton soup has absolutely zero seasoning, not even salt. The only reason it gets two stars instead of one is that it wasn’t poisonous or unsanitary. Just remarkably flavorless. Truly a must-miss.

Happy to have good Chinese food so close (had to drive to the International District or Shoreline to get my fix). Ordered the pork rice bowl and chicken dumplings – both dishes were good. The pork meat was fork tender, the sauce mild (usually too sweet or too salty in some restaurants), the broccoli beautifully steamed. The chicken dumplings were flavorful.
I love that their menu is limited and it looks like each item is freshly made and good quality. There’s a bit of a wait which is typical for food like this. This is now a new favorite. Highly recommend to everyone to try it!

The egg dumplings and the pork dumplings were great. Only issue…They’re served on an open plate with paper so they dry out quickly. They also tear easily due to drying to the paper so you lose half of not all the soup. Staff was friendly. Not a fan of the noddles but that’s just my pallet. Would eat dumplings here again, for sure.

Wonton soup, all the dumplings came apart so that it was more of soup with noodles and bits of meat. The meat pieces were not flavorful and tasted old. It lacked flavors of wonton soup!

The food isn’t too good. The order of dumplings came all bunched together, so when you take a single one it tears multiple dumplings, losing all the juice onto the cardboard container they have to serve you with, which soaks it all up. Flavor isn’t anything special. The wtap tastes like it was made yesterday. Old flavor, too thick, easily tears.
Also, dude who was cooking had no hair restraint on. Huge shaggy hair.

Read other reviews before ordering!!
I would recommend not eating here.
We ordered 12 of the pork and chive dumplings. Very disappointing. We asked for them to be served for dine in/here and we got our order in a cardboard to go box. As you try to eat the dumplings they pull away from the paper and the soup/juice inside spills out.
Dry and thick skin on the dumplings – the staff don’t really know what they’re doing back in the kitchen if this is the result. The chili oil was okay. Based on the one dish I wouldn’t come back or order other items.

I’m really glad they opened a Dumpling Generation in the Lake Forest Park Town Center. I haven’t been to the original location in Edmonds, but was told by the friendly and peppy cashier that the Edmonds location has a much bigger selection. The selection is somewhat limited, but it’s probably about the right amount for a food court. They offer the chicken dumplings as well as rice bowls and bubble tea. I ended up splitting the chicken dumplings and the beef rice bowl. The beef rice bowl was pretty good – the stewed beef had a good Chinese braised spiced beef flavor. I was a bit disappointed they used short grain rice though and would prefer jasmine rice. The dumplings were the highlight and it makes sense the place has dumpling in the name. The filling had a lot of chicken flavor with slight sweetness and the dumpling wrapper was cooked perfectly. My main constructive comment would be to serve the food on a different type of compostable container or maybe melamine plates. The issue was that the dumpling wrappers and the rice would stick to the containers and when taking the food off there sometimes was paper residue on the food. With all that being said I would definitely return because with all due respect to the other vendors, Dumpling Generation is the most interesting vendor in the food court.

We just bought one black milk tea and Thai milk tea like 2 minutes ago. The milk is just like drinking water. Definitely don’t worth the money. The service was good, the one star is only for a good service. But that is not enough for me to go there one more time.

So on top of food being bad, now have to add bad customer service (when you hire teenagers their attitude ruin your business) to it as well, I think if the owner really want to save the business has to hire new staff, because their other location in Redmond is good so problem is definitely the staff
